DA vs ECNL vs everything else

Another GDA Defection announced. Indiana Fire departs and goes back to ECNL. Looks like they also added a big North East club with SUSA and LA Breakers out in Los Angeles.

Now that is a funny response. DA has lost 4 major teams in four weeks after just one year of existence. Nothing to see here. The only other answer that would be more amusing has already been used - PDA, Hawks, FC Stars and now Indiana are all "trash" teams and all their talent will leave them anyways and go to another DA team. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.......

In the 1st year ever in existence, GDA took every major ECNL club in the nation and rebranded it as GDA...in fact...GDA is the new ECNL. Some of the major clubs are going back. Got it.

Outside of that, what?

Mclean was below FCV is every age group. Get ahold of your emotions.
Bethesda is cool..but who needs them?

Now I said top clubs in the country. Mega clubs.

You are obviously a Bethesda dude. I get it. Much respect. But NOVA isn't MD.

As a parent looking at both ECNL and DA for my DD - this trend of big clubs leaving DA after just one year is concerning to me even if the DA posters on here want to explain it away and bash the ECNL at the same time. One concern I have with the DA is the limited non league play. It is ridiculous to think any league will have all the best teams. it’s good for development to be tested against other types of teams. And I hate the merger of age groups - how is that any good for development? It yo-yos the kids around every year. I can actually understand why the clubs chose to go back to ECNL. It should be a wake up call for those in charge of DA that something isn’t working.

You are not even a parent of player that has played in either league. You keep sticking up for ECNL and have no clue what you are talking about. I knew you were that guy.

My child has played in both. Last year, ECNL had the bulk of the national talent. The bulk of the talent left to GDA.

So did all the big clubs defecting to GDA concern you last year? Do you even understand, how in one year, GDA damaged ECNL?

The ECNL of 2018 is not the ECNL of 2017. Stop living in the past.

As far as playing time, ECNL left kids on the END of the bench all the time. ECNL is not about development. It's a showcase league....a very expensive one at that.

Most ECNL clubs were already discouraging their kids not to play HS soccer...did you know that? Older age groups were destroyed ever HS season. Spring here in VA.

If your child is good enough, let her play ECNL. But don't sell me a fraudulent bill of goods on what the ECNL is and isnt.

The MA division of ECNL is atrocious.

Here. Read some history. HS debate is not new. Anyone who has been around awhile knows this.

So you play in both leagues now or just saying your opinion now that you’re in DA?

You must spend all day on here. Embarrassing. I did not write any of the prior posts that you so nicely accused me of writing and merely felt like stating some of my concerns given my DD is looking at both league. I hear your viewpoint and it’s agenda loud and clear.

If you had any open mind then you would not accuse me of having an agenda becausd they tell you their experience.

Nothing i said is not factual. The fact that you call it ECNL bashing makes me believe that you have some alliance to ECNL. There has been plenty of DA bashing that hasn't bother you apparently.

Put your daughter where you want. No one cares. But please, do not offer your opinion as fact unless you been there and done that.

I don't know but I did see McLean U19 and U16 clean up at Jefferson Cup. So I don't deny that FCV has a strong program but WS is a joke at best and you also have to admit that Bethesda and McLean have not missed a beat. I also believe Bethesda has a U17 USGNT player that did not decide to leave for DA because she wanted to play HS ball. HS play is a reason some of you fools fail to understand why DA will not get all of or most of the talent. I know stud athletes who play b-ball, swim, run track, and play lacrosse who will not give up on those sports and ECNL and other non-DA leagues are a great fit for them.

Look, DA is great but not for everyone and for that reason, ECNL and other leagues will remain strong.
