He’s not stupid.

Didn’t Mayor Ghouliani want to arrest and expel Yasser Arafat from NYC /the UN?

Was he a war criminal? If I remember correct, Palestinians only had men throwing stones at the Israeli military as a weapon. I’m sure Israel misses those days when he was alive

Karma comes back around. The Palestinian prime minister was threatened with arrest by a NYC mayor and the president was threatened and shamed in Congress by Netanyahu. No respect. Now Bibi’s getting f u’s from Trump , a bolder Iran, and the biggest American city not caring about helping him take the country to war. It’s no coincidence Mamdani won weeks after Israel tried to drag us into war

What is sad is that 2024 should have been the wake up call. And Mamdani’s election should have been yet another.

2016 should’ve been the wake up call.

This is a really good point. So many elite conservatives were beating the drums for another Middle East forever war. Mamdani was the backlash.

That's what you tell yourself. But also because of people like me and my peers. We're all GenX. Did you think only youngsters voted for him? You would be wrong.

Not PP: This NYC-residing GenXer did NOT rank Mamdani and will NOT be voting for him in the fall. I want to vote for a millennial socialist like a hole in the head. Probably going to write in Adrienne Adams.

How does it feel that Millennial socialists skipped right past Gen X in national politics? Gen X is like a ghost generation

Late June was the lowest Israel approval rate in the U.S. even among MAGA so it does appear that the timing really worked in Mamdani’s favor. This new bill slashing SNAP and Medicaid will also work in his favor.

The timing couldn’t be better for a democratic socialist but it’s embarrassing the establishment Dems can’t see that and think socialism is a bad word that still scares people.

It goes to show how out of touch they are

Can you explain your dramatics concerning Mamdani?

I know you weirdos want to bring the almighty, brutal power of the state down on anyone who dares to challenge the authority of the state, but that isn’t terrorism no matter how hard you try to overreach.

ITA - and I’m a GenX New Yorker who first voted for Clinton 1992. Cuomo is of that model - no thanks.

I’m actually surprised Gen X is so against socialism. I guess they don’t mind that Social security will end for sure with them despite a lifetime of paying taxes

And it’s not like Gen X can count on their broke underemployed kids to take care of them so they’re screwed between the dwindling health care systems, safety net insurance premiums, and a market overdue for another crash just in time for their retirement. Yikes
Anonymous
Dwindling safety net and rising premiums.

Gen X has some odd affinity toward boomers who totally screed them over. Gen X should be more aligned with millenials

It's like Dems focusing so much on the word "fascism" in the 2024 national election. Average voters don't know or care what these terms mean.
