I don't get how, in 2022, we still have to explain why it's immoral to treat others like shit.

It's not about morality, it's about having the freedom to say what you want to say. Fox News spreads hate and discontent. MSNBC and BLM supporters say hateful things about police officers all the time. People make hateful comments on literally thousands of websites every day. How are you planning on silencing these people?

These two are not the same (even though I do not agree with your second statement as a fact). Fox news spread hate and discontent against minority groups. MSNB and BLM supporters saying hateful things about police officers (I do not see that happens all the time) is not targeting minority group. Power structure matters. Whites being racist against blacks is not same as blacks generalizing whites as oppressors. People who both-sides are complicit in ruining our country!

No, that’s ridiculous. Bigotry is bigotry. You can’t just superimpose a new concept on top of a previous concept to render it meaningless. That is just rhetoric. What matters is the universal human truth that individuals do not want to be treated differently on the basis of skin color rather than personal character. People are not buying this guilt by association anymore.

It's not guilt by association. Quit being such a victim. You're not.
And power structure does in fact matter. You're being deliberately obtuse in not recognizing that and in not recognizing that people seeing "hateful" things from a place of pushing back against brutality, violence, systemic discrimination and people pushing hateful rhetoric to keep those same systems in place. But, being obtuse, and intentionally so, is lame and lazy. But I have come to expect that from the right.

I didn’t say that power structures don’t matter, I said that the existence of power structures does not make generalizing about white people ok. All generalizations are ignorant. Maybe you should focus more on power structures without advocating the stereotyping of white people and then maybe we would be discussing power structures rather than arguing about what all white people supposedly are or are not. Haven’t you noticed the backlash against this rhetoric? It’s oversimplified to just call everyone that rejects universal statements based on skin color a racist and it’s preventing progress on solving issues of racial inequity.

He's going out of his way to amplify and endorse far right wing wackjobs and conspiracy theorists. That's sucking the air out of the room for any sane, sensible commentary. And it's shoveling coal on the fire fueling distrust and undermining civil society.

Why, Elon? Why?

Elon is the new Donald on Twitter! Mean spirited, disrespectful, stupid, divisive and megalomaniac with megaphone!

Now he is calling to prosecute Fauci.

Yep

He's amplifying and elevating conspiracy theories, he's punching down and encouraging his followers to attack anyone who dares question those conspiracy theories.

Not as big as the other issues obviously, but… why?

If the idea is that certain voices should be elevated and some should be suppressed, its always going to be like this.

He loves psycho manifestos.

The amount of disinformation - I'm noticing especially anti-vax, anti-medicine stuff - is growing exponentially on twitter. I don't see how it can survive this way. Very sad.

Elon appears to be addicted to the attention.

It just amazes me that such a successful, brilliant person can be such a hollow shell. I wonder if Walter Isaacson is still shadowing Musk right now for his biography of him. That'll be something.
