So is a free ride. Prove me wrong |
I think GW is actually about $80,000. |
I am sorry, what? Narrative? Please try to make sense when responding. |
Well there you go. 320,000 dollars education for free. It’s basically being pro and getting paid 80,000 a year for soccer while also getting your education. But like I keep saying, keep over committing to Top 25 for peanuts. |

Trying reading from the beginning and you wouldn’t be lost |
Northwestern is not even in the top 100, GW not even on the spectrum since they aren’t in the power 5 conferences and are only sitting at 198, Georgetown is the only school that could even be considered a top school in this a topic and someone thought it wise to compare them to VT? Why even try to compare them to VT they are way over VT heads. |
| The discussion is about academic opportunity not the soccer programs. |
I don’t care about program rankings. I care about school rankings and money offered. VT may be a Top 25 girls soccer school but it’s not close on school rankings. Getting a walk on offer or 20 percent offer for a state school is cool. I applaud the kids. But I understand the reality which is they will probably sit the bench will paying to go to school when they could have gotten a lot more money with more playing time and just as good education elsewhere. Hopefully you understand that not every kid is taking the highest program offer available..for many reasons. |
No, it’s not! It’s about the 25 top schools and how FCV is able to promote it’s players while surrounding clubs can’t. Let’s be real, if you not only get to go to a high skilled team and play collegiate soccer at the highest level and still get an amazing education you pick the low leave soccer program over top 25? who would do that? You mean to tell me your kid gets a scholarship at 70% to UVA you aren’t going to take it because GW gives you a full ride? If the answer is yes, your kid is middle of the pack and that’s why you have that mentality. Which is okay, but let’s not only pretend it’s because you want the full ride. |
Your kid is not even recruiting age. It shows. Over hyped and argumentative. Wait until you really start crunching numbers and considering offers before offering your opinion. |
I don't know what you are talking about. I am looking for the best academic fit for my kid and hoping the soccer piece works out. The academics are important. The money is important. The level of the soccer program is last on the list. |
I agree with 20% and sitting the bench, I personally wouldn’t do that but VT has great education and who’s to say that was the kids first choice and she feels like she wants to give it a try, work herself up to possibly winning a starting position and more money. Everyone has their own story to write out. That kid that got that 20% offer although low currently is way better off currently then the 98% of 04 who have received nothing at this point. That’s a scary place! |
What does your 18 year old “kid” want? Question? What does your kid want to study? |

VT is currently ranked 75
South Carolina is currently ranked 35 The only Top 25 ranked school in the convo is Georgetown at number 5. So, the only area club currently with a Top 25 commitment is Arlington. And she was a Spirt/Metro transfer How you like them apples? Loooooloooooool |
