Freak accident

This. Having a hard time believing any somewhat disciplined, sane child would do this, even a young child.

It is a little bit of a red flag, either for fiction or for her kids' reaction. In the Still Face Experiment (and that's a conscious person, so IDK if worse or better!) the procedure is for the parent to display a totally blank expression... for 2 minutes. Babies and even toddlers/preschoolers show distress well before the 2 minutes is up.

OP, your 8 year old has anxiety BECAUSE she has a more pervasive disorder that no one is helping her with.
It sounds like she has very slow processing speed and ASD.
Take her to a neuropsychologist or developmental pediatrician.
Do not ask a regular pediatrician, a regular psychologist, a psychiatrist or a social worker as none of them are equipped to diagnose what's really going on here (but none of them will tell YOU that).

Children with ASD are very commonly misdiagnosed with anxiety and/or adhd.

Also, you didn't recognize a joke a PP made and responded to it as if it was a serious question. Your affect seems odd to some posters.. and dh seems emotionally and logically off.
Your family isn't "broken" as you stated earlier, but I don't think you guys are neurotypical. Which is great and allows you to accomplish really unique things that others can't. But you need support here. Especially the kids. Please follow up with the correct professional.

There is something wrong with your kids, I would get therapy stat.

I’m a nanny and I fell on the hardwood and smacked my head. I woke up to the girls crying and calling their Dad to come home to help me. They’re 5 and 8.

What the f? Have you not taught your children to get help if you do not respond to them? Does your EIGHT year old not know to call 911 instead of sneak games on your phone? WOW.

NP here and some of you are being real assholes. OP’s family needs professional help for sure, but to call her kids “not normal” or similar is salt in the wound.

Her kid strangled her and OP was unconscious. Then the same kid punched her and gave her a black eye while the older sibling started playing games on her phone.

Her kids are not normal and the entire family needs help. There is no sugar coating this.

Op then makes excuses for her 8yo not having common sense.

The detail that seems the most suspicious to me is that OP says she was wearing an infinity scarf.

Yup. That detail is what made me think troll.

And also the OP answering questions so quickly like she was always checking for posts. That shows someone was bored and just decided to start some crap thread to entertain themselves.

Why is that detail the thing?

- someone who loves infinity scarves and is confused

If this is a troll, her imagination is incredible. I think it has to be real because it is so bizarre.

I have no issue with infinity scarves, but it’s been years since I saw anyone wearing one.

Lmao I’m not that poster, but what are you, the fashion police? YEARS? They only started to become a trend like 5 years ago. I bought one from Old Navy (gasp!) last year, from their current season. I mean, maybe they’re old news for you and we are not fashionable, but it’s not like she was strangled with her bell bottoms.

DH and I play wrestle with DS. However last year, when DS was 5, I tripped on a dog toy and smacked my head on the wall and was knocked out. DS grabbed my phone and called 911 and then DH. Just like we had taught him.

I'm not going to say that ops kids aren't normal. But to pass off their behavior as "well dad play fights with them" and that's why they acted like that is ridiculous. Both her kids need evaluation. Op and her dh need to teach them what to do in an emergency.

Agree - this can't be real.

What doesn't make sense to me is that this sounds like OPs blood supply was cut off which made her pass out. I do jiu jitsu and this has happened to me before. But once the blood supply is not constricted, you wake up. I don't understand how OP was out long enough for all of this to occur

They should have called 911. Why haven't you taught them to do so?
