Not even the best in Montgomery County. One great team and that's it. Far behind Madlax, BW and VLC.

Nope DCE 2022 beat Madlax in last game. Who else do they need to beat in DMV?

Not sure why all the hate towards DCE. They run a business and really don’t hide from that. You can run a biz and still benefit the kids, btw. They partnered w a willing school for field space. The school, in return, showed off its facilities and got a bunch of great to avg players on the campus all Spring, while also making some field rent money. BLC also rents field space there for younger teams. Smart by Bullis, in my opinion.

At the same time, some DCE coaches were also hired by school to assistant coach. Seems pretty smart to me as this set up got them one great class (6 kids from DCE 2021 team). Sadly, ego’s and the inability to share credit for Bullis success got the staff to fracture. No leadership from HC or school to keep it together. School tried to fix it, made a move to change coaches and then was rebuffed by a few very loud parents and alums w no eye toward the future (the parents are all senior parents, mostly on attack and alums voices were lead by son of HC).

Based on everything I have read and heard, this about sums it up.

PS- Yes my son plays for a DCE orange team, was recruited to Bullis but chose to stay public.

Not quite accurate. A good business is a good business but you have to operate with integrity and your assessment does not sum it up.

Real story is that the DCE assistant coaches put $ and ego over honesty and leadership. Two DCE assistants weren't hired as head coach 4 years ago so when they came on as assistants coach they started plotting behind JB for 2 years rather than being role models and team players. DCE was in bed from the start with a couple of Board members and Assistant Head who were salivating over DCE money and enabled bad behavior by DCE assistants, to include treating the DCE players like prima donnas, insulting players who weren't DCE, creating fracture within the team and coaching staff, and making inappropriate statements to players including about girls. That is on DCE coaches and lack of leadership at Bullis. DCE coaches complain about petty issues about credit (issues HC had no control over) exposing their true interest is not in developing strong student athletes and honorable citizens but rather promoting their own self-interests - everyone could have shared in the success but DCE coaches made it all about them.

Uprising of support for JB from across the world - literally - was not limited to Bullis alum and not led by HC son. It included students from other schools, parents of former students, college coaches, college players, MLL players, mentees AND years and years of lacrosse alum who will be essential donors to help grow the program into the future, It was motivated by people who know the caliber that Bullis can and should be and know the high caliber and strong coaching and leadership of JB. Don't dismiss the support of over 1000 people as a counter balance to a few corrupt DCE coaches and Board members. Bullis success happened in spite of DCE assistants, not because of them. DCE may have great club teams and be a fine business but not lead by fine men.

Latest is Bullis sent letter confirming JB remains HC and will take the program forward.

To add on to the pp; it's not a business, it's a school. Why didn't the other poster's kid choose public over bullis? Was it affordability or the skill level of the players or something else. If the kid had gone, would the family have contributed anything in terms of time or money in the future? That's the point. These recruits only take and very rarely give back. Go back and read the article on the stab family. They only play in dc and at bullis for selfish reasons.

+1 Very well said. Sums up everything our family has seen and experienced.

Agree. And don't forget the current players and parents of current players who signed the petition.

I would rather my son play for DCE than attend school at Bullis.

Me too and my parents.

Until I started visiting this site, I had no idea that so many parents' kids get rejected by Bullis.

Ummm, if you pay full tuition, you don’t get rejected from Bullis. Ever.

Can someone post the letter from the AD stating that Bellistri is now the head coach?
