I think the girls are likely in better shape, having just finished the spring season and summer tournaments. I would think they'd feel more confident in their preparedness than they'd feel at the end of August having done probably not much for 6 weeks. Coaches probably feel like they're getting a better idea of skill level as well and decisions are being made more fairly.

if this was true they wouldnt make you pay until you tryout for other teams and then make your decision.

No clubs I know, whether MS or HS, let you wait to see all your DD’s options before making a decision which one you’re going to pay/join. Some may privately agree if they want your DD badly enough but that’s it. They are not in this to make sure you/your DD makes the best choice for her; they are in it to get the players they want to commit ASAP.

The top Pride 26 team beat the top Stars 25 team. Pride 25 won the championship.

I heard that. They play in a winter clinic/league and Pride 25s and 26s beat the top Stars 25 team. I'm not sure when it was this winter but it was this season. Hence, the early trouts now for incoming 6th graders. Talent pipeline drying out.

So let’s get this straight. You heard something that you don’t really know much about but thought it worthwhile to repeat it and then reach conclusions, all about 11-12 year old girls. DCUM at its worst.

why would the person be lying? this is what I heard. Who says it isn't true? we were having a discussion with a friend who just moved here last month from PA and has 3 kids. They were asking questions and this came up. Just don't know why people would make things up to be honest.

When you are at the top of the mountain, you always have to be prepared for shots by lowlifes.

Now we’ve resorted to name calling. Sounds about right.

I’m having a hard time understanding why people are so ruthless and mean about these girls who are just middle schoolers. Does it really make you feel better to make fun of kids? Don’t you think they’d prefer to win? I don’t really get why it’s funny or necessary to laugh at kids who enjoy a sport and lose some games. Honestly, stop for a minute and imagine how your child would feel to learn that grown adults are on a message board making fun of them. It’s really cruel and sad.

I can also confirm this is true and I’m a stars parent.

Can't believe people are posting about "championships" from an indoor league at the St. James.

Really? That is the barometer of girls lacrosse?

Yeah. Hilarious. And sad. Capital 2022 parents are bragging about the same thing on a different thread. Crowing they beat a mediocre varsity team fir the “Gokd Championship.” ??.

Hard to fathom - parents are totally clueless. St James is weakest of the indoor leagues too. There are better leagues where the better clubs and high school teams play (ex. GOALs, Cap Sports Plex). Just a sad time for the DMV clubs like Stars and Capital. They used to be solid competitive clubs. Really going down hill. Not competitive in the top tiers anymore.
