Is Stars going away? I heard they pulled out of NGLL because they do not have the numbers to fill Fall teams? Rumor has it several players have left for other clubs. They still have not even posted the new rosters...
So who is the stable decent club in the area for Middle school girls Lacrosse? |
Stars is still 100% fine and stable. Full teams for every age group. |
She no longer does it full time. She had to get a corporate job. I don’t know how much longer pride will last, sadly. |
| You keep trying to say Pride's in trouble to push your agenda. It's not working, but thanks for the laugh. |
| Stars did give a much bigger refund than we got at Pride. Maybe KMG should share more of that corporate money. |
It is so grade by grade. But I wouldn’t read too much into the fall NGLL play day. A lot of families are being Covid cautious and on the flip side, it is Labor Day weekend. |
A quick look at the schedule shows that there are only about 8-10 clubs doing the NGLL weekend. Our club, Skywalkwers is not, and a number of of the other regular Maryland clubs took a pass as well. So I wouldn't resad anything into it. |
Yeah and the truth is Stars won’t attend if other top clubs like Skywalkers aren’t going. |
| Chris Robinson is just trying to not refund everyone’s money so he threw together a weekend tournament in place of the league to keep your checks. Surprised how many clubs want to help fund M&D’s national expansion. |

Capital gave a refund too. We appreciated it. |
| Yeah, a refund if you can call it that. $150 for younger age groups and $75 for 2021's. What that basically means is that in a very tough time for the country, referees didn't make much money this summer, vendors didn't make money, parents got screwed and many tourney directors and clubs made more money than if the tournaments had actually happened. You can appreciate it because they didn't have to do anything, but don't be naive to the reality. |
| Our club gave us a $400 credit towards this coming season. I don't think the clubs aren't making money off any of this. From what I have heard most of them pay for tournaments at least 6 or 9 months out and the tournaments weren't giving clubs cash refunds, just credits for next year. I suspect that most of the area clubs would have gone under if they had written actual refund checks to parents instead of giving them credits. I would rather not have my $ from this coming year used to give refunds to people from last year. I don't know why these club directors keep putting money in CR's pocket - he runs a club, runs the league and gives his own teams preferential placement in tournaments he runs. Total conflict of interest all around. Too bad all the clubs don't get together and just decide as a group to stop attending. |
Now this is a good idea. Its true, CR has created a system where M&D is always going to come out on top. Same with the STEPs and NYYJ Lacrosse owners. The other clubs should band together and refuse to play along anymore. |
| I agree. But, we need more strong clubs in the DC area and close suburbs so we don't have to travel to Baltimore. Madlax and Cardinal are great for development, but aren't currently as competitive as the other clubs. |
