Men in your 50s, do you find women in their 50s attractive?

Anonymous

I just turned 48 and my only child is 20 and away at college. I would much, much prefer to date a 60 plus guy whose kids are grown than another 50 year old who still has kids that live with him most or all of the time.

My actual experience, as a 50-something divorced man who still has custody of kids, is that much younger women do not mind that at all.

But, looks like I'll miss out on dating this 48-yo DCUM harpy. Too bad, so sad!

If you think someone else not wanting to take on your kids makes them a "harpy," I don't think we'd be a match, so I'm not fretting about it either.

This thread is kind of timely - I just texted a pic of myself with a new haircut to DH, who is on travel. I'm 49. I believe him when he says he thinks I look sexy, but when I look at the pic, man do I look old .....

Did you cut it short? Some short cuts on some women can look good, but mostly they look matronly. Your girl friends will tell you it looks "cute," but probably your husband likes it longer.

Are you in shape? Then believe him you look sexy. If not, the haircut is not hiding those un-sexy extra pounds.

To answer OP's question, of course. It's been 25 years and I'm still very attracted to DW. Were something to happen, I think I would stay within a 10 yr window.

It's slightly below my shoulders. I'm not gray, even though I'm old. The issue is really my face, which would look old-ish with any haircut.

I'm thin but not in shape (meaning I am not super toned). It's really just the look of having an older face.

Cutting off your hair like a typical middle-aged woman makes you look years older and less attractive. If you wish to be invisible to men go for it.

Women should wear their hair the way they want to,because it is their hair! Wives are not an extension of their DH and should not have to dress or look a certain way just to please her man. Now if she likes it too, great but, so sick of people saying what men like! If you want long hair than YOU HAVE LONG HAIR.

Umm ... Sparky? The thread is about whether 50-year-old men find 50-year-old women attractive. When a woman mentions her right to do as she please, she's deliberately missing the point.

In your 40s and chiding men your age for dating younger women but don't want to date a 60-plus guy because he's 'too old'? That's ageist too.

No, what we are saying is that, ceteris paribus, a 50 Y/o p***s works better than a 60+ y/o one. Its not ageism, it's reality. I'm one of the early 40s pp. I have two friends married with much older men. One "travels" extensively to our home country (less chance of getting caught) and another one ran away with the much younger rabbi. The first one told me that Viagra doesn't work all the time. Lots of women like me give birth in their 40s and it's also easier to get pregnant with a younger guy.

I'm 62 and my DH is 65 and he can still perform as well as he did 20 years ago without any meds. He may be a freak of nature but he's my freak!

On Match and OKCupid. Date twice a week. I won't even consider women over 35. And my pipeline is full.

The idea of dating a 50 year old (or older??) is a nonstarter.

NP. Why not women over 35? Do you want kids?

Lucky you! Most aren’t so lucky.

What did your hair look like before? And what does it look like now?
