Right. That's one of the definitions of gender-non conforming. |
Sure. See if you can get them involved in a fun party game. Or, maybe they'd prefer a movie. Make some popcorn. Order pizza maybe. Lights out by midnight for teens. Pancakes in the morning. Have a great time! |
| I asked this question earlier, but didn't get any responses? Are boys as likely to consider themselves to be bi-gender as girls are? Or is this a phenomena we are seeing mainly among girls? |
Not sure. And not sure why it matters? Intuition would say more acceptable for girls because bullying. But, who knows. |
| This thread makes me sad. What has the world come to? Now young children are pretending to identify with another gender or NO gender? This didn't even exist 50 years ago. We are continuing to specialize children. So awful. |
Because if mostly girls are doing this it means it's a fad or a fetish. Statistically girls shouldn't be any more likely to be non gendered than boys. |
So, what, you're desperately trying to discredit this? Why? Why does it threaten you so? In my experience, the only people who are so threatened by this have deep issues of their own. It's like all the conservatives who go to extreme lengths to bash gays and then get caught with "wide stances" in the bathroom. If this bothers you so much, it's telling you something about yourself and your own identity. That's the only reason anyone could possibly be so angry and desperate to dismiss it. |
Personally, I know (at least) two biological females who identify as gender nonconforming. I know three biologically male elementary school students who identify as (in their words) "whatever." I know one MTF transwoman who is married to a woman; I know one FTM trans man who is married to a woman. You could look up statistics just as well as you.

I could look up statistics as well as you could. |
I'm not threatened at all. No, I don't have issues. I simply think the vast majority of people are either male or female. End of story. I don't think you can choose gender anymore than you can choose race. I think it's actually immoral for parents to permit a young child to pretend to be of the opposite gender. |

I think in middle school it is more girls than guys. More acceptable for girls to play around with gender, experiment with each other etc
From what I've seen the boys who are into the gender non confirming trend are the boys who are also gay or bi and experimenting more with their identity. |
It didn't exist 50 years ago because people were told they had to be put in specific gender boxes. It didn't occur to people that they could step outside, and if they did, they were ridiculed or had violence done to them. So this is progress. Listen, my son loves wearing colorful pants, rainbows, unicorns, and so on. He also loves dinosaurs, robots, and Star Wars. If he wants to dress in half of the colors/pictures he likes, he has to go into the "girls" section. That's just the way stores are set up. He doesn't self-identify as anything but a boy or a kid, but if he continues to want to wear these clothes as he gets older, he might want to make choices for himself. Or stores could just go gender-neutral, which would be my preference. |
Gender is a social construct. A society can absolutely adapt to the needs of its members. |

PC gone amuck again
Crap like this is why people voted for Trump |
It's kind of scary you define your kids gender by what aisle he shops in. Trust me you could buy a shirt in the men's department and that wouldn't make you a man. Wearing colourful clothes doesn't mean he is a girl. |
