APS Boundary tool--anyone get it to work yet?

If you can show your property is in the walk-zone/ 1 mile, etc. You have a legal basis for making them to take your kids at W-L.

Fuck then.

Sad to watch a county unravel in slow motion.

Planning unit 2321 in Lyon Vilkage has many houses within 1 Mile walking distance to W-L.

They need to fix that unit or annex out these houses.

+100

How did it end up on the chopping block in the first place? The Aryan desire to make Yorktown High School even whiter?

2321 isn't in play!

The Key zone/science Focus is in play.

It's about being able to walk to and from HS--especially after pra th e, etc.

My house is exactly 1 Mile from W-L in any walkingapbapp used.

This is fucked up. It is also fuckec up to take 10 kids out of a large tight-knit neighborhood while the other 65 kids get to walk to and from school. Why carve out a small island out of a single neighborhood?

Arlington tries to sell itself as a family-oriented walkable place and they make idiotic decisions like this.

What are you talking about? All I see is swearing about something that hasn't even happened. What planning unit is getting you so upset?

Several schools are in play. I'm seeing Ashlawn, McK, Glebe, Taylor all on the N side. There isn't a war on Key/ASFS.

The kids in that zone walk there without even crossing any major roads like Washington Bld, etc. It's straight back through neighborhoods the entire way. It's idiotic to move them.

Where are you seeing anyone on this thread trying to move walkers away from W-L? Just because the units are in play doesn't mean that you'll be selected. In fact, I think it's very unlikely. However, if you are not in the walk zone as defined by APS, even if you CAN walk or bike, you are likely to get moved because THIS IS HAPPENING and somebody has to go.

APS policy is any high school students 1.5 miles from HS are designated walkers.

What happens when part of the planning unit is beyond that? If your own house is less than 1.5 miles you are a designated walker, correct?

Driving app has 1.4 miles. Walking app has us 0.95 miles. We are in edge of a planning unit. Curious as well.
