I want to follow up with the fact that Michelle also visited Barnard, Columbia, & NYU is pretty significant. Being so involved in academics I could see her wanting to visit the facilities and see some admin for a school that Malia was highly considering. Once Michelle mentioned she was interested in film making everybody had her in the can for NYU but who knows. I just don't see Michelle pushing Harvard for undergrad, they seem to feel that both girls should go to a school where they will feel the most comfortable. |
Here's the NY Times article that mentions what Malia is supposedly considering. I'm glad you know her so well that you can say "you don't see her going to Harvard" but since you're probably just guessing, I'll take the NY Times as a course over you. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/16/us/politics/obama-tax-day-returns.html

Visiting a school once does not mean she's considering it seriously. |
I don't know her well. I'm speculating just like you are based off of her own parents comments about picking an undergrad college. Malia visited Barnard/Columbia twice (Dec and Feb) and Stanford twice (summer 2015 and just recently). We'll see in a few days. |
God, I hope not. DD doesn't need applications going up there. And we've alrealdy mentally written Barnard off our list. |

Here's the Malia Obama Barnard April Fool's article.

My bet has been has been on Barnard/Columbia/ Stanford regardless of a joke article.
There is also a fake acceptance letter going around about her going to Harvard. |

I called it!! |

No HBCU considered? Doesn't the Obama family care about their heritage? |
Their heritage would be Ivy League since that where her parents (and paternal grandfather, uncle, niece) went. |
Thank you for the clarification!!! Now, what will they say under Race/ Ethnicity? Can you mark "Privileged 1%" instead of AA? |
I was kidding; you're annoying. Not sure why a girl who's parents attended the top schools wouldn't also attend a top 5 university. http://www.usnewsuniversitydirectory.com/undergraduate-colleges/national-universities.aspx |
What are you implying? Only kids with HBCU-educated parents should apply to HBCUs? |
Nope that's what you implied. I'm saying that it's no shock that a girl with Ivy League parents would also be heavily leaning towards Ivy League (and Stanford) and highly selective liberal arts colleges. Some people have hurt feelings about her not looking at HBCU's but if you look at where her parents (Princeton, Columbia, Harvard), uncle (Princeton), aunt (Barnard), cousins (Princeton/Wesleyan) and paternal grandfather (Harvard) attended it's obvious the schools she'd be looking at. |
