You don't think her father's job has anything to do with it? Nothing at all?

I'm sure her dads position helped, but my daughter said she is smart as hell. Wish her well!

Yes, extremely smart. What I heard from DC too.

Great news! This intelligent, ambitious, and poised young woman will attend the university of her choice, whatever that college or university that may be. (Personally, I hope that it is Harvard, as it is a life-changing experience to be surrounded by so many inspiring faculty and motivated peers.) Good luck to her, and congratulations to her parents for successfully getting their first daughter through her childhood years.

Where is her boyfriend going?

Of course it did. Most girls that age don't have nearly the close exposure to world politics and culture that she has had by virtue of having grown up in the White House. But, by all accounts she is a bright, hard-working, respectful girl and that, combined with highly unusual upbringing would ensure her place at H.

Let's just say that she has a ticket that has been punched to just about anywhere.

It doesn't matter. She would get in regardless. It has nothing to do with her close exposure to world politics and culture and everything to do with her father. I love the Obamas and voted for him twice. But let's be clear. For every other student who had her credentials, Harvard was a crapshoot. For her, it was a guarantee.

Stop.

Not an Obama fan, but I think Malia is the prettiest of all first children (ok, maybe a tie with JFKJr). So there's that.

As are any other schools to which she may have applied.

How do you know what her credentials are?

Thank goodness for Grandma! Most others like her get tons of nannies. Parents are oh so busy!

I dislike her father, but wish her the best! I'm sure she did earn it even if she's a legacy.

So you personally know her father?

If it did then the same can be said for the Bush twins and Chelsea...yet I don't recall anyone ever making that connection. Certainly you don't think she didn't earn it because she is Black right???
