Someone is stealing DD's lunch

In our school, teachers will take the snack of it is too junky.

If that turns out to be the case, I would let the school handle the disciplinary part of it (which I hope would just be talking to the 6 year old about reaching out for help when needed and not taking from others) and I would see if there was a way to donate snacks to the school for kids who don't have enough (when free/reduced lunch doesn't cover snack time).

Oh lord have mercy. Are you serious? It isn't just a kid who wants snacks. It's a depressed, poor soul looking for crumbs of food anywhere they can. Maybe the mom should pack 2 of everything and feed this malnourished kid??? There are free and reduced lunches already paid for by you, the taxpayer. Give me a break on the codling of society.

Man, you really have to work hard to keep up here. It's fruit! In a cup!

Often added sugar in that cup.

(Face palm) Why can you not see the humor in this discussion?

What about the fruit cups that are packed in 100% juice - not HFCS - are those bad?

You'd feed your kid JUICE?

No kidding. Fruit juice is so bad! I dehydrate the fruit before I let my kids eat it.

(No, I don't, really.)

I don't eat lunch with my students. The aides monitor lunchtime. Of course I'd want to know if one of my students wasn't eating, but unless an aide or another student tells me about it, I have no way of knowing.

I've known one who did it. She made the time. She was going to control what was in her classroom and that was that. She wasn't my kid's teacher, either. Just someone I knew. She was quite proud of herself. I never did find out just what she did with the food she took, or how long she actually got away with it.

That's bizarre.

If the kids eat a snack during class then I could see how a teacher would have more control over it, but they aren't going to randomly go through lunchboxes. If they do, they have way too much time on their hands.
