IVFers, how old are you and how many eggs?

Anonymous
40 years old (1 week shy of 41). History of miscarriages and chemicals. Did a low dose antagomist protocol with no Estrogen/BCP through Shady Grove Fertility.

8 eggs
7 fertilized with ICSI
5 made it to 5 day, all top quality.

Fresh transfer was BFN but frozen was a BFP! Now 8 weeks, with three still frozen.

Congrats PP! Which Dr at SG did you see? I found it impossible to convince my Dr to go low dose/no BCP route

what is the main reason those under 35 have to have IVF? i mean were there any symptoms that suggested infertility before you needed IVF?

Thanks, I'm hoping this one sticks!! I saw Dr. O'Brien, who I really liked. I switched from a different doctor who had me on an alarming high amount of meds.

MF would be the one main reason, I think. Had I known earlier when I was a whole lot younger, I would have started start IVF so much sooner. But, we did not know we had MF until I was 37..... Bummer.

Any reason anyone needs ivf...including dor which can happen even in your 20s. I had dor in my early 30s....given a 5 percent chance of success with ivf.

23 fertilized
11 frozen and tested through PGS
4 tested competent

Waiting on transfer within the next cycle.
I'm the same poster as 6/1/2015 at 10:31am. This was my third cycle at GW (Dr. F). I had the same protocol as my previous 2, except a higher dose of Gonal-F and a lupron trigger, instead of ovidrel.
