doing another retrieval with same protocol and added HGH - anyone have experience with human growth hormone leading to better results in terms of number to blast?

First IVF:
Age 38
33 eggs retrieved, 26 fertilized, 13 made it to day 7. Only 5 PGS tested normal.

Second IVF:
Age 39
18 eggs retrieved, 13 mature, 7 made it to day 7 and are being PGS tested now.

Just wanted to update this that of the 7 being tested, only one came back normal. While not unexpected, I can't help but feel disappointed.

I was the PP who asked about your CD 3 numbers - i'm the same age as you and got four eggs, three to blast and also one normal. It's crazy how random the whittling down process is with eggs/embryos. Are you doing a transfer or another cycle to bank?

Doing the transfer. My husband is so done with this so I don't think I could convince him to do a third cycle. Are you going to do another one?

Same, transfer is next week. Really hoping it sticks! Sending good vibes your way too.

Age: 38-39. IVF #6: switched clinic, retrieved 17, canceled fresh transfer due to fibroids in uterus. freeze 9 on day 5, later transfered 2. Result: BFP.

Which clinic did you switch to?

1st - 8 eggs, 6 mature, 4 fertilized, no blasts
2nd - 5 eggs, 3 fertilized, no blasts
3rd - 11 eggs, 8 mature, 4 fertilized, transferred 2 day 5 morulas, BFN, none to freeze

Update on additional cycles. After 5 standard cycles, I just did a mini stim and got pretty much the same results. Craziness!! I'm going to DE, but as I'm getting that set up, I wanted to feel like I was still trying and I also had some extra meds, so thought I'd give this a shot. Wish I'd done the mini sooner!!!

1st and 3rd were EPPs, 2nd was Lupron stop. All with max doses of stims, although ratio of GF to Meno varied. I did cycles 1, 2 and 6 at one clinic and 3-5 at a different clinic. I like both, but different docs/clinics will try different things.

4th EPP. 13 eggs, 1 blast frozen, BFN (max stims)
5th EPP. 10 eggs, day 4 transfer of 2 good looking embryos, BFN (max stims)
I turned 43. 6th EPP, mini stim. with low doses (150 GF, 75 Meno). 9 eggs retrieved. Clinic will only do a frozen transfer, so we'll see if I get any blasts...

Have you ever done PGS on any of the blasts?
Anonymous
No, I’ve never done PGS. I had intended to, but with so few viable at day 5, I don’t want to risk it. If I had lots, I would do it and plan to do it for the DE cycle.

This thread has helped me a lot, so I figured I would post my stats as well
I lost my beautiful baby girl in January 2018 to pneumonia. Given my age, the fact that I'm un-partnered, and that I would really like to have another baby girl, I decided to go with IVF/ICSI/PGS. I retrieved yesterday and just got my fertilization report. I'm using donor sperm, but due to the fact that I would PREFER to meet the man of my dreams (haha!!!) I decided to bank some eggs so they are available should that miracle occur.

So Far:

39 years old

45 eggs retrieved
37 mature
10 eggs put on ice
27 inseminated via ICSI yesterday
22 fertilized and on their journey now.....we'll see what the next ew days hold!!!!!

17:27-I’m so sorry for your loss! This thread has also helped me a lot and since you’ve posted, I’ll post too!

DX: unexplained infertility-all tests normal. TTC for 1 year.
8 eggs retrieved
6 mature
5 fertilized w/ICSI (only did ICSI bc we’re doing PGS testing).
Day 5 update was today and so far all 5 are still growing! Hoping they make it to blast, biopsy and freeeze!

Good luck to you!

I am 41 turning 42 in 6 weeks. Retrieval today, out of 10 follicles before stimulation, 9 started growing. Sizes Before trigger 26.6, 16.0, 18.2, 9.8, 24.8, 23.4, 23.9, 13.1.

I’m feeling a little devastated, the doctor told me she retrieved 6 follicles, of which 4 had eggs. She didn’t even mention the other follicles and I don’t know why she didn’t try to retrieve those as well. I was under the impression that the doctors would retrieve every follicle and sample for potential. We will learn tomorrow whether the eggs fertilized or not. If there is no success, I would like a recommendation from anyone on a clinic that will retrieve all of my follicles.
