No need for the name calling. Be nice. |
correct. |
If the outcomes were better, people wouldn’t mock the planning. Hours and hours of wasted instructional time with the end results of middling test scores don’t seem to be a good use of time. |

I just saw Doug Kammerer's weather report (local weather reporter) and he says 3 lines of storms around 11, 1, 7. 1 is the time to watch for tornadoes. Right during the 3 hour early release.
It was a hard call for FCPS, but looks like kids would be safer at school til the normal release time. |
Yes it’s so idiotic I hate LCPS |
I’m frustrated the plan is “let’s just see.” I had to come up with 3 possible dismissal scenarios for my kids and develop a plan for whichever one comes to pass |
Exactly they can’t just decide at will that it’s gonna be an early release that’s incredibly unfair to parents and these forecasts are not the conditions to “wait and see” in |
Why? Because FCPS won't do hard things to teach children? Just like they can spring election day closures on us, they can also decide for us to be in school. |
Yes kids would be safer in schools than on busses than in cars/walking outdoors. But this isn’t about students safety, it’s about giving teachers more PTO. |

Doug Kammerer said the most severe storms will be at 3:00pm.
From FB: Weather ALERT! Good morning my friends. Already stormy this morning and we are in for a very stormy day! I am watching what will be happening this afternoon. I am still worried about our severe potential in the form of strong winds and Tornadoes. One thing I am watching that could lower our Tornado risk this afternoon is the area of showers and storms ahead of the main line. Check out the radar for 3pm this afternoon on the HRRR model. It and others are bringing strong storms and very heavy rain North into our area ahead of the main and strongest line. The area moving from the South is in the red circle. It looks like it would hit areas from DC to the South and East. This may lower instability and our tornado chances. We may still see a few tornadoes, so we cannot let our guard down. This will still be a very stormy and potentially dangerous day. Stay safe my friends!! |
You’re wrong - and a jerk to boot. |
I’m not, schools are required by code to have places to shelter for storms. Your car, your house and your sidewalk aren’t. |
When I was in kindergarten, I used to think the teachers were in charge of everything and that they lived at the school. When I grew up, I learned that not only do they not live there, but they also have very little power over school policies. It's time you learned that, too.

Apparently you’re an idiot too. PP was saying you are wrong about how the decision to close schools is about giving teachers more PTO. |
