Key words being “if it’s something you want” How does anyone know that’s something she wants. |
Some people act like it’s some life failure to not want marriage or kids. |
It is. And it’s literally all she sings about for the last 20 years. |
In what way is it a failure to not want to get married and/or have children? |
It’s certainly not a failure to not want to get married and have children… but she has always talked about her future as a wife and mother so it’s really weird that some of you are insisting that’s not something she wants at some point in her life. She is only 35 yet some of you are acting like she’s a post menopausal woman. She can have kids whenever she is damn well ready. |
😂😂 |
That's preposterously absurd. It's simply a choice, one way or the other. You suck, actually. |
The sad part is that she’ll go through life not realizing how much she sucks and judging others, at the same time wondering why people distance themselves from her. |
well -- teams will be in london and germany in the next few years and likely mexico so you are wrong about people caring for it. |
What's absurd is to make corny songs about love, romantic relationships, and sadness about breakups as part of your public persona, while in your real life you conduct yourself as someone who has no interest in stable romantic relationships. In your mid 30s it becomes total cringe to hop from shomance to shomance for the teeny boppers. Everything has a self-life and this shtick ages like milk. Why not be honest and make music about being a party girl who is never going to be tied down by a man. That would be cool and authentic. |
Maybe climb out of the basement and get some fresh air. |
Who are you saying is paying whom, in this scenario? |
I'm not sure she has talked about being a wife and mother. I don't follow her that closely, so maybe I am wrong. Lots of love songs and breakup songs, sure. But "rings and cradles" is not quite singing about wanting to be a mother - maybe wanting to get married (but that's different than wanting to be a wife). She sings about NOT choosing the picture perfect picket fence postcard life quite a bit. I too would like songs about more than love. But it's possible she's an incurable romantic always chasing the high of new love. There are people like that. They are having more fun than me. I wouldn't want it but partly because I would fear the ability of getting a new love endlessly, which isn't an issue for her, and partly because I'm not an incurable romantic and it would start to see forced and false to me. If she ever does get married, she probably will HAVE to sing about something else because married love is B.O.R.I.N.G. I don't think there is anything innately better about being life partnered than being a serial monogamist - if you can do it do it, I guess. The songs are definitely better than songs about choosing houses and furniture and managing in laws at holidays and having sex when you'd rather be reading though you're never sorry you did afterwards. Blech. |
Except it’s literally not. She has a ton of songs where she just makes blatant sexual references and there is no mention of being a wife or mom. |
