FWIW I would vote for anyone moderate.

+1 I think most would.

DP. No they wouldn’t. That’s how Trump keeps winning.

Biden campaigned as a moderate but governed as a far-left progressive. In 2024, nobody trusted the Democrats any more when they claimed to be moderate as it was obviously a lie.

How did he govern as a far left progressive? He barely did anything despite claiming he would do progressive things like universal pre-K etc. He did very, very little at all.

These people claiming that Biden was any kind of progressive are quite insane. He ruled firmed for the center while giving republicans pretty much whatever that wanted. At best we didn’t move either left or right.

Biden was off the chart progressive on the second most important issue to US voters in 2024

Biden and Democrats Priorities

And yet it is the democrats that expand immigration which allows companies to stomp on workers , and they wonder why they lose Elections . Focus on US workers first and never lose.

1.Biden refuses to mandate e-verify. there is no reason to require corporations to hire US workers. -https://www.governing.com/work/e-verify-creates-loophole-for-undocumented-workers-employers.html

2.Biden helps US companies replace US workers with cheap foreign labor by expanding H1B - https://www.axios.com/2022/01/12/h1b-visa-approval-rate-tech-biden-immigration

3.Biden expanded OPT to new job categories, this helps companies replace US workers with cheap foreign indentured servants - https://www.fragomen.com/insights/united-states-white-house-announces-expansion-of-stem-opt-program-and-other-initiatives-to-attract-stem-talent.html

F1 - Legal system requires F-1 students to remain with employer for approximately 7-12 years

4.Biden proposes to create brand new W-1 visa with unlimited Green Cards, because we mythically don't have enough workers in the US, we devalued a master with H1B, and now we will devalue PhDs with W-1 visas - https://www.forbes.com/sites/stuartanderson/2022/01/27/house-adds-game-changing-visas-for-immigrant-startups-and-phds/?sh=500faa1810be

5. Biden allowed millions of illegal aliens to flood the country. Pelosi and Schumer were in cahoots on this plan .

Ah so you don’t know what progressive is. All of this benefits big business by supplying cheap labor. There is nothing remotely progressive about anything you listed. Also Schumer and Pelosi are not progressives!

That PP is ridiculous. I don’t want to hear another MAGA talk about e-verify ever again! Did they bury their heads when it was found a small fraction of the felon’s properties used e-verify and after that expose came out he quietly dismantled the program. MAGA is delusional.

The felon has used illegal immigrants his entire career and does not want it to go away, nor do his friends after their recent ballyhooing.

Democrats need to become the party of labor again.

Why is this so hard for urban elites to understand?

Come on. You are not serious. Joe Biden went all in for labor and the unions. He stood on the lines with him and had his DOL fully support him. Kamala as well. The union stuck Kamala in the back and twisted the knife. Ef em. I hope they FAFO. They were so in love with the Orangeman rough mafia persona that they voted against their own interests. And this is after Biden and Harris supported the teamsters contract negotiations at UPS, Starbucks and more to the detriment of shareholders. The union got their contracts, thanks to Biden’s support and those stocks have never been the same. Also, jobs were cut.

This is so typical of the attitude of DCUM Democrats and why you lose over and over, and why the rest of the country, Democrats and Republicans alike, despise you.

It's not wrong though.

Unfortunately the GOP has built their base on the dumbest, most hateful people in America, and what you're describing is exactly what stupid people do when they are confronted with truths that they don't want to believe. Instead of listening to evidence and reason they get angry and lash out.

Is it true that telling idiots that they are idiots who got blatantly conned only makes them hate the people telling them that more? Yes, absolutely. Is it true that they are idiots who got blatantly conned? Also yes, absolutely.

Democrats are in a position, as always, where they have an impossible task of being the responsible adults who have to do the hard actions and say the hard truths in order to fix the mess Republicans create and improve this country for everyone, even the ones who hate them.

You are in absolutely no position to be calling someone else dumb. This is laughably idiotic.

Oh look, it's one of those hateful idiots who got conned who is so exceptionally stupid that after years and years (really decades and decades) of evidence they still haven't realized they've been conned.

Exactly. Come January, anyone buying health insurance on the open market is going to see their premiums rise by 75 percent. 75 percent! Obviously Republicans suck, but when was the last time anyone heard a Democrat talk about health insurance. Who gives a damn about diversity quotas and trans rights and restorative justice and equity and globalizing the intifada when you can't afford to see a doctor? The misplaced priorities of Democrats is absolutely breathtaking. There is mass disgust in this country with both Republicans and Democrats because neither give a damn about working and middle class Americans. And progressives are just as rotten as MAGA.

Are you joking?? Under the Biden administration the ACA was expanded, prescription drug cost were lowered, maternal health was improved among many other initiatives.

Your post reflects what is so wrong with our country. Too many people with their head up their a** to know what is actually going on and not being able to vote in an educated manner.

What did Trump do in his first administration to address healthcare issues? Other than threatening to repeal replace ACA, which, of course he never did.

And not doing a damn thing about it right now!

+1 ACA premiums expected to rise 75% next year. Lots of people - both in blue and red states - will end up losing coverage.

https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/2025/07/18/nx-s1-5471281/aca-health-insurance-premiums-obamacare-bbb-kff

This coupled with medicaid being gutted is a big F U to the lower/middle class just so the rich can have more tax cuts.

Apparently you believe the rich should foot the medical insurance of medicaid recipients and lower/middle class. Nope. You are not owed.

I’m not as pessimistic. To be cynical, there are only two national parties, and always will be. Even if people distrust Democrats (and I’m not sure that’s true), they’ll still vote blue in order to to kick out the vastly more unpopular Trump.

PP here. Why on earth do you think Trump is more unpopular than the Democrats? There is no polling that shows that now. Polls now show Trump is unpopular but the Democratic Party is even more unpopular.

And I don’t know how you can’t see how distrusted the Democrats are at this point, but this is the same smug complacency that lost the presidency in 2024. I find it incredibly frustrating, because if you’d just open your eyes (where you refers to Democrats more generally), maybe we’d have a shot at winning again.

Trump is losing all demographics in polling right now except gen x. And he keeps digging himself in a bigger hole everyday with his crazy, erratic tweets, alienating us further from our allies, implementing very unpopular policies, etc, etc!

Do not see that helping Rs in the mid terms and beyond.

Job approval for congressional Democrats hits all-time low: ‘Flat out terrible’
July 17, MSN

The job approval rating for congressional Democrats has plunged to another all-time low, with fewer than 2 in 10 Americans happy with their work on Capitol Hill.

Only 19% of registered voters approve of the way Democrats in Congress are handling their job, a Quinnipiac University Poll released Wednesday found.

The dismal rating for congressional Dems is the lowest ever recorded by the pollster, which first began asking the question in 2009.

do you honestly think what people think of Democrats right now in a poll will be reflected when they go to vote? At the pace of insanity that is happening in the Republican Party right now?

Honestly, you hear and read what you want to. You have no outside perspective. That's your problem, not mine.

Why are Democrats overperforming and Republicans underperforming in every election since? What happens when Trump isn't on the ticket in 2028?

So you're saying some throwaway line in a debate from an accidental candidate in a losing election that could be missed while washing your hair is what America should be focusing on? That's the answer? What is Chuck Schumer's health care policy? What is Hakeem Jeffries health care policy? They are the leaders of the Democratic Party. And I hear nothing from them or any other Democrat when it comes to real world issues that affect the middle class.

You people who work for government or Big Law or Fortune 500 companies love idly ignoring the concerns of Americans on different paths - creatives, consultants, small business people, gig economy people, young people kicked off their parents insurance - the vast majority of Americans. You simply wave dismissively. When I think of Democrats today, I think of the capital city in the Hunger Games - flamboyantly privileged people. Let them suffer seems to be the mantra of Democrats today.

The point is Democrats are not offering an alternative to MAGA tribalism. It's a completely useless party in 2025. The plan seems to be Trump sucks, and we'll just wait it out and get back to the Biden glory years when we can wave our do-gooder flags and do f**k all for the working and middle class for another four years while the country rots.

And I don't think that's going to be a winning plan going forward. Even after all the Trump garbage, most Americans still hate Democrats more. They offer nothing to most Americans except a giant We Hate You and Hope You Suffer More. The post-Obama Democratic Party is rotten to the core. At least with Republicans, I can understand both their greed and their anger. Democrats are just parasitical Washington creatures who care about nothing at all. It's only a game for them.

I voted to give you healthcare. You didn’t vote for an “accidental candidate who lost” who repeatedly talked about expanding the ACA. There was no throwaway lines about it. (The felon fluent mention it al FFS, yet you think he’s the answer for working class because he’s a “relatable billionaire.”)

Look in the mirror, my friend. You constantly change the goal post, so now your health care premiums will increase. So will mine. But I can afford them.

But we do either way. There’s a legal obligation to stabilize patients when emergency care is required (EMTALA). When they have no health insurance they end up at the ER with bills that get written off and then impact the cost of medical services for everyone. The only difference is apparently you’d rather pay more for emergency care.

I don't agree with everything that PP said but the bolded is absolutely true. I frankly don't hear anything from party leadership on any real issues. They didn't even get any attention for whatever noise they made on BBB (Schumer and Jaffries seemed more distraught about Mamdani). There's finally a wedge in MAGA over Epstein and Pelosi is calling it a "distraction" instead of using it as way to pull in disaffected voters.

So much damage and at this point the Dem establishment seems complicit.

What OP is getting at is directionally correct (the disillusionment with the status quo, for rise of populism) but where I think she is wrong is that as of yet, I don’t see that somewhat leftward populist shift reflecting in national election outcomes. The critical voters that Democrats need in swing states do not trust the Democratic Party at all, and certainly don’t see Democrats as any sort of “good guy.”

Democrats have an enormous trust hole to dig themselves out of before they can win national elections again. The voters they need see them as liars right now.

I am watching a few Democratic candidates around the country who show promise, although I think a party that relies on the lightning in a bottle that was Obama is ultimately doomed. But the situation isn’t entirely hopeless. Someone who can capitalize on what OP is observing without being tainted by the deep trust issues the party has would have a good shot.

How do you figure?

This.

And a key reason why Democrats lost.

Me me! I heard Harris talk about it at her debate with the felon. I guess you were washing your hair?!?!

She also recounted how many times in his first term he tried to abolish the ACA in case people were continuously washing their hair from 2016-2020.

You are projecting. I voted for Harris and have health insurance. But your queeny "I voted to give you health insurance" cements my impression that Democrats are Hunger Games douchebags today.

Well, you certainly make up a lot of nonsense, including that Dems don’t talk about healthcare. You sound suspiciously like a fake Dem with your claims and insults. If you think we’re not on the middle of MAGA Hunger Games right now, there’s no convincing you.
