Reagan was anti-union, pro-business. He ruined the regulations of large corporations and introduced tax breaks that would allow for more shady business practices. He did this all for the name of trickle-down economics, which has only helped make the rich richer. The result was big businesses being able to spend more money on mass-production that also ended up moving overseas to further reduce their spending (hurting the economy and leading to exasperated population decline in many parts of the Rust Belt). So these large companies can now avoid taxes inside the U.S. by simply claiming tax breaks and working outside (leading to other issues down the line).

He claimed to want to reduce debt but massively ballooned it with frivolous contracts to the military.

Reagan was a horrible geopolitics strategist who helped expand Operation Condor's crimes across Latin America and gave Iran ballistic missiles for cash to give to drug cartel death squads and directly fueled drug problems in inner cities with the intent of weakening black populations further. Now this is POST-AYATOLLAH. He gave ballistics to a HOSTILE regime because it would help him give money to FOREIGN DRUG DEALERS dealing drugs in the USA. The same guy who was anti-drug, who claimed that Carter had failed with Iran (his backers pulled strings with Iran to hold off on hostage release negotiations until after the election), etc.

On top of this, he got the NRA to go all-in on gun control the moment blacks began arming themselves with legal firearms to defend against the KKK and other hate groups and march around in protests while armed which white nationalist groups were allowed to still do and CONTINUE to still do in the 21st century.

He laid the groundwork for the Evangelicals to gain political power and impose their views on everyone else.

MAGA has amped up all of these things and somehow convinced those who are victims of Reaganomics that it's the fault of Liberals and Socialists. But perhaps people are now realizing that the GOP doesn't really care about them.

My kids aren’t victims. They don’t view themselves that way and neither do I. But the decisions made about things that impact them actually do impact them. Whether that’s COVID protocols years ago, or how and what is taught in sex ed, and the use of pronouns, and the affinity group phenomoneon and yes, the ever present possibility that the girls team will suddenly have a boy. We absolutely have dealt with transgender boys (biological girl to trans boy) in some of our extracurriculars but it was not a sport. It’s not a fiction. It’s all real stuff and the young people don’t like all of it and have opinions and those are maturing into political opinions. That is my primary point. For a whole lot of reasons, democrats have lost the whole benefit of the doubt. When I was growing up, democrats were the nice guys. The caring guys. That is not the view of young people anymore. Democrats are now viewed as the judgy ones, the ones who tell kids how to feel and what to think. Kids know that if they disagree with democrats they will be punished. They have seen it in school and in social situations. Democrats are not seen as fun or interesting at all anymore. My children absolutely associate racism with democrats and that is a huge shock to me but it is 100% true. Particularly anti-Semitism. So we have now entered the part of the debate where you abandon any pretense of discussing issues and just attack your perceived opponent. So predictable. So, are you saying transgender people (mostly biological boys) crossing over to compete as their assuming gender (typically girls teams) and competing in high school and college sports is not a thing? It’s just something Republicans made up? Is that what you are saying? I just want to make sure I understand exactly what you are saying.

DP. I believe it happens. I don’t believe it is such a common occurrence that the PP’s kid had to deal with it in her soccer team. I believe the PP was employing hyperbole to try to make her kids seem
like victims.

My kids aren’t victims. They don’t view themselves that way and neither do I. But the decisions made about things that impact them actually do impact them. Whether that’s COVID protocols years ago, or how and what is taught in sex ed, and the use of pronouns, and the affinity group phenomoneon and yes, the ever present possibility that the girls team will suddenly have a boy. We absolutely have dealt with transgender boys (biological girl to trans boy) in some of our extracurriculars but it was not a sport. It’s not a fiction. It’s all real stuff and the young people don’t like all of it and have opinions and those are maturing into political opinions. That is my primary point. For a whole lot of reasons, democrats have lost the whole benefit of the doubt. When I was growing up, democrats were the nice guys. The caring guys. That is not the view of young people anymore. Democrats are now viewed as the judgy ones, the ones who tell kids how to feel and what to think. Kids know that if they disagree with democrats they will be punished. They have seen it in school and in social situations. Democrats are not seen as fun or interesting at all anymore. My children absolutely associate racism with democrats and that is a huge shock to me but it is 100% true. Particularly anti-Semitism. Half my family is life long democrat and the rest is independent and all of our friends have mostly voted blue. But go ahead and ignore me.

So there wasn’t actually a trans girl on the soccer team. As I suspected.

Stalinism and the "communism" of the USSR was not the theorhetical communism of Marx. It was a brutal autocratic regime with haves and have-nots. That isn't communism.
