There is a NWS cold advisory for tomorrow. |
| Officially delayed tomorrow too |
| Another 2 hour delay for tomorrow morning too |
| Ridiculous |
Not really. It will be 9 degrees and feel like 2 degrees tomorrow when middle schoolers would have to go to the bus stop. |
Except that it won’t be any warmer 2 hrs later. It’s going to be roughly that cold all day. Either close schools or no delay. Two hours doesn’t really do much. |
I agree for Wednesday. By 10am, will be same weather as day prior at 7am. |
I agree. I work in a different local district but live in FCPS. My kids are thrilled for the delay but now it’s a pain. My school is on time. Really, there were no issues with students and staff getting to school on time today. It’s not much better 2 hours later. Please don’t bring up middle school and the dark. I have a middle schooler and don’t understand this delay for them either. |
Well that’s most likely why the delay is happening. Doesn’t matter if you think it’s dumb. When my kid was in middle school a few years ago he had to walk nearly two miles to get to school and that isn’t safe in this cold of temperatures and especially in the dark. I drove him, but that’s not an option for many parents. |

Thursday = delayed
Friday = on time |
| And we wonder why children are not resilient and head to their safe space when presented with even the smallest of challenges. But same holds true for anyone born after 1985. |
If you’re so concerned about their resiliency, feel free to have your kid walk to school two hours early and stand out in the cold waiting for two hours. That should do it! |
| This shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. We have the same cold weather advisory as this morning. They're treating it the same way. I agree the temps won't get much better so it seems a bit silly but they're at least consistent with their inconsistent reasoning. |
You are ridiculous |
That would be a waste of time. But they did enjoy their backyard camp out Sunday night. |
