Agreed! I think they shared about 20% acceptances oos actually end up going there. Many deferred will get in the regular round.

Is the that last sentence true??

I don’t believe so. I think around 13K were deferred today per Graves’ blog post. Last year around 7K total were offered admission in regular round. So it would seem like a long shot to now be in RD. Bummer for my kid who was deferred and has UGA in Top 3 but oh well such is life.

I know a lot who got in last year RD after deferral. Not a longshot.

So happy for all who have been accepted so far and pulling for those who have been deferred. UGA is a lot of fun. Know a lot of people who attended and I can’t think of a single person who didn’t enjoy it.

Deferred
3.86/4.57 MCPS (not sure of UGA gpa)
32 ACT (but lower math score than the other three)
9 APs
Decent ECs and essays

She has some less selective schools higher on her list, so she’s doing okay.

Accepted with Classics scholarship. Public school, 1450, interested in business, 11 APs, 4.0 UW.

Visited the school and received emails and clicked on many if that somehow matters.

Maybe UGA and GT are converging. But UGA does not come close to Emory. I know several UGA honors students rejected from Emory last year.

Hard to compare acceptance rates and selectivity amongst the UGA, GT and Emory. They have different missions and attract different sets of applicants. All three are great though!

It judged in the context of what the school offers.
