The ACA actually does that for me. The government doesn’t dictate which doctors I can see — although the plan that I’ve continued with does. So it definitely works well for some of us — and much better for me than many employee sponsored plans. |

OP, I understand your concern but I think you’ve been very misled.
My grandparents were also immigrants that waited for years to immigrate legally to get away from gangs in their home country. But guess what? When they came here, the gangs came in too (some legally, some over the border from Canada or as stow away) and were here too. That has basically always been the case. The Biden admins biggest problem was believing naively that Congress was acting in good faith and would help solve the border problem. Trump told Congress not to, so the mess continued and Biden had to issue an executive order, which is of questionable legality because this stuff really should be done by legislation. Trump created much of the problem by stripping my out the federal government. Without ICE employees or administrative law judges we can’t process people and send them home. Biden has been trying to staff back up tovtake care of backlogs but it takes time. Harris is not gojng to mess around with this stuff. Trump will bring only chaos. He cannot solve any problem because he is just focused on himself. |

I would be thrilled to not have my healthcare depend on my employment. I have no problem with universal healthcare. I have a friend on one of the Maryland plans and it has been very good for her. She has a rare form of cancer, and every type of treatment her doctor recommends has been approved |
