The poll numbers for Democrats are surging.

And still Trump won't put himself on a stage with Harris. That's very unlike him. I wonder if he's unwell. He's an old geriatric after all. 8 pm might be a little late for him. Most Americans don't want a president who will be in his 80s. You'd think he'd at least try to be energetic, maybe with the help of some meds.

He's afraid of her. He knows she's smart. He knows she can think quickly and humiliate him.

He didn't worry about that with Biden. Harris will be in control of that debate stage.

Do you think Harris will do better than Hillary, who, after all, was a smart lawyer like Harris?

I don't know. I think it will be tight due to the obvious prejudices of our populace. But I also think we all understand Trump and his games better. I don't know who will win, though I think Harris will be a better president ( I can't believe I even have to clarify that).

I think most Republicans will not vote for a smart woman of color, no matter what party.

I think many of us will, but like the pp said, the race is going to be tighter than it should be, because a lot of independents may also be prejudiced against a woman and / or person of color.

So if you do not vote for her you are prejudice??? Nice. How about not liking her policies on immigration, crime, economy?

Seriously, I hope you’re wrong. Who thinks like this this day and age?

Have you been in a coma for the last 6 months?

Democrats have defined headless chicken.

Now they are back to calling Trump a coward re: debates, after he probably should be arrested for attempted murder after he dismantled and exposed old Joe in their debate.

I mean can you all even get a new shtick for Kamala? Change it up?

Then please explain why he is now refusing to debate Harris?

It’s pretty arrogant of Kamala to pretend that she is the nominee when she has yet to receive even 1 delegate.

She can just hold her pretty little horses until her party gets its act together and has an official nominee since they forced the other one out.

What are you talking about? She has received thousands of delegates.

The correct answer is Zero delegates.

During the primaries, Biden won most of the delegates. These are legally bound to vote for him at the convention.

Harris has received None. No legally bound. Al lane has is verbal commitments that they will vote for her at the convention, but this is not legally binding. They can switch to another candidate if they want at the convention. This could be case if her poll numbers dip or they decide someone else is strong to beat Trump. It’s unlikely, but possible.

Democratic delegates are not bound, they are pledged. Stop talking if you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Dp. SOME people would rather vote for an incompetent white man and clown with a poor or non-existent track record than vote for a competent, experienced, and knowledgeable woman (and POC). see 2016.

Yes. Kamala has a bubbly personality, more attractive, and less baggage than Hilary. Hilary seemed like a smug and entitled warhawk. And Kamala will presumably pick a more charismatic VP. Kaine was terrible.

I just heard a focus group of Haley voters on the radio. About 1/4 were breaking for Harris, 1/4 were voting for Trump, and half were third party or not voting at all.

Yes, but mostly because Trump 2024 is much less coherent than Trump 2016. He has declined a lot in the last 8 years.

+1. Trump has lost his fast ball. He's cringe and boring. Anything zany about MAGA is gone, he's just a boring Zionist puppet at this point.

It sounds like he will commit to a debate once the dems officially nominate her. Title on this thread is quite stupid

Uhhh...you realize that Trump debated Biden literally a few weeks ago when Trump was not the GOP nominee yet, right?

Was that "pretty arrogant" of him?

Why is debating not-yet-but-presumptive-nominee Harris a problem all of a sudden when debating not-yet-but-presumptive-nominee Biden wasn't? It's literally the exact same situation, except Trump is terrified of debating Harris now, so he's grasping at straws to make up excuses that don't even make logical sense.

When Trump debates Biden they had both secured the delegates to be the presumptive nominee. That is not true of Kamala.

Harris is Biden 2.0

Failed border policy, failed Israel policy, inflation, crime, etc…

There is no real reason to issue this. It makes him look weak and scared. She will become the official nominee on August 1st. That's more than a month before the scheduled debate in September. The way to have handled it to look strong is to say 'Anyone, any place, any time'.

It is currently true of Kamala.
