Are we?

Because right now it’s looking like Trump is going to win the GOP primary.

Oh please. You all want him to win. The entire media is in simultaneous salivating/panic mode over it. Salivating that he will clench the nomination so they can have ratings bonanza talking about him nonstop again for the next six months. And panic that they might cause him to win again because they have learned absolutely nothing from ignoring voters last time.

^ Here is an example of Americans not being “smarter than this”. So embarrassing.

Oh hey that’s a great strategy. Insult and talk down to those who aren’t in lockstep with your political ideaology. That always works out well.

We know from experience that it’s worthless to reason with irrational people.

The fact that Trump is winning primaries shows us that we are not “smarter than this”. We have millions of proudly ignorant people in this country.

DP, but did it never occur to you (genius that you are) that a huge swathe of the country voted for him in the first place because they felt totally disenfranchised and ignored? Of course not. You dug in your heels and continued to ridicule/talk down to them and insultingly dismiss their grievances as mere “racism” (and any other “isms” you could think of). And then you were shocked and outraged when these same people had the audacity to vote for him AGAIN. And now here you, repeating the same ignorant cycle.

It’s not JUST the Trump voters who are “proudly ignorant”…

So…irrational. Ignorant. More evidence to support my point.

Again, you can’t reason with irrational people. There is nothing anyone can say or do to make them change their vote.

And here you are supporting MY point. Buckle up for another Trump presidency. You’re pretty much begging for it.

You seem to think my words and actions will affect their votes. Why do you think that?

Nope. Not ignorant people. Lots of folks who are fed up with the left and making a statement (that the left refuses to listen to) - we’d rather vote for Trump than any of the garbage you’re offering up. And honestly, I get it.

You’re proving my point.

And yet, you still won’t change. Interesting.

What is it you all actually stand for other than hating the libs?

You seriously have to ask? How about harsher criminal punishments instead of letting the jacka$$es run amok in dc (and many other areas in the US). And tightening up the borders, to start?

You mean like the ones who stormed the capitol or your former president. SUre, I'm all for not letting the criminals run amock. Lets start with them.

If you’re comparing the participants of Jan 6 with carjackers, drug dealers and murderers, there is no rational conversation to be had here.

They are much, much worse.

They violently stormed the Capitol with Congress and VPOTUS inside. They physically assaulted LEO. They demonstrated contempt for our democracy and laws.

Well I stand corrected. You’re so right! Carjackers and murders don’t do that. Great catch!

I absolutely am! They broke the law. Therefore, they are criminals.

And you think this makes your point look…reasonable? Lord almighty if this is the nonsense coming from some parts of the left we really are doomed.

Why do you not think they are criminals? Or do you think they are just patriots who acted because they thought they were saving us from the evil Dems? Please explain why you think they are not criminals. Most of them are sitting in jail now btw so there were laws on the books against that kid of behavior.

I never once said they weren’t. I said they are not the same as those who participated in Jan 6. It’s a huge problem that you are equating them to murderers. There are different levels of criminal behavior - which is why we have different levels of punishment.
I feel like I’m talking to a 5 year old.

Four police officers lost their lives as a result of that riot. Other officers were severely injured. I know of at least one who lost an eye. Some officers were mildly injured. Others retired or left on disability. It was not a nonviolent, non-contact event.

PP is still lying. Just do a simple fact-check:

“In a tweet on Oct. 24, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez referred to the Capitol riot on Jan. 6 as “a terror attack,” which she said resulted in “almost 10 dead.” She called for “any member of Congress who helped plot” it to be “expelled.”

Journalist Glenn Greenwald commented on Twitter that the claim of “‘almost 10 dead’ from the 1/6 riot is deceitful in the extreme. Four people died on 1/6: all Trump supporters.”

There is reasoned debate about the number who died as a result of the Capitol riot. Ocasio-Cortez is including law enforcement officials who responded to the Capitol that day and committed suicide in the days and months afterward. None of them have been officially designated as “line of duty” deaths, though there is some congressional support for it.

Ocasio-Cortez’s tally also includes two rally participants who died of heart failure — including one who died before other protesters had breached the Capitol. It includes a rallygoer who was initially believed to have been trampled to death in the mayhem that day, but was later determined to have died of an accidental overdose.”

Like AOC, the PP is a left wing nut-job (LWNJ) who will lie to advance her extremist agenda.

Genocide and segregation? Yes, the USA has a history of both. I hope we as a nation has moved beyond that. Unfortunately, Israel is still practicing such atrocities. Shame.

You have obviously never been to Israel because it does neither of those things. Now Arab nations, they actually do those things, including to Palestinians.

I actually took my grandmother to Israel. She was a devout Christian and wanted to see what she deemed the “Holy Land”. You lie when you say there’s no segregation. The misery I saw in some areas compared to the Jewish areas, yikes. Americas ghettos are luxury in comparison.

As for the genocide, open your eyes. When you have to bomb a population that is majority minors, killing off the next generation, what do you call that. When you have some of the top politicians openly stating that their intent is to wipe out the Gaza entire population and self-deport turning the area into a beach resort, you lie.

So what does he offer that no other Republican can?

If he wins the nomination, he will be the only republican offering the nomination.

I personally would prefer Nikki Haley be our next president, but there is democracy to consider.

If he is the nominee, I will do exactly what all you dems did, and vote for the nominee even if he was not my first choice. That is how this all works.

Crime, the open border, and inflation are out of control, and Biden is not doing anything to change any of that. He won’t even step in to help DC even though he controls the US Atty office in DC; I guess Biden wants all the criminal cases dismissed in DC (since that is what’s happening).

If he wins the nomination, it will be because you all elected him. You will have voted for him. There is still time to not nominate him.

Democracy to consider? Indeed. If Trump wins, what do you think will happen to it.

Biden is not doing anything to change any of it? I think you want to say "I don't like what Biden is doing" because he is doing plenty.

So again, other than blind hate for Biden and your apparent ignorance about how people get elected in this country, what does Trump actually offer that no other Republican does?

Please tell me your secret then. We need help! After all you were able to not nominate Biden…

We don't worship Biden the way you all do Trump. Maybe start there.

Really? Well Biden was elected by popular vote as well as the electoral vote. They didn't like the result of the democratic election and stormed the capitol to violently change the result. that's how.

Please. My dad is a Vietnam vet who nearly died and is disabled (after being drafted) and he and I both spoke last night about how unthinkable it is that my brother is delighted that Trump is in the race after that very man tried to overthrow a US election. That is unconscionable and utterly treasonous. Both of us agree. In fact, he brought it up with me.

My dad would never think anyone expressing disgust at being an American right now is on any level remotely similar. It isn't.

I also disagree that that this is the greatest time to be living here. Our democracy is being tested more than I ever thought possible in our lifetime.

I am proud to be an American - but not in the sense of - my country is better than your country. But this where I was born and I grew up and I love it here and feel loyal. I’m not looking to move to another country - I’ve traveled a lot and as much as people talk - I think you’re really hard pressed to find somewhere as large as the US that is really doing it so much better than us. I think it’s mostly just the grass is always greener type thing when people think that. And if they really think that, then be my guest and try to move.

I feel like it is a huge mistake to let American flags and patriotism only be symbols of Republicans.
