How proud are you to be an American?

I am embarrassed by Hamas supporting/anti-Israel Americans. They don’t understand that Israel shares American values. They think the Palestinians are oppressed and Jews are oppressors. Laughable ignorance.

I’m not proud because I was born into my American citizenship, it’s nothing I earned or worked for. I am loyal and a fierce defender of the US. I have traveled and lived in other countries and would not want to live anywhere else. But of course there are things that disturb me. I try not to dwell on them though.

VERY proud. I was born somewhere else, lived in many countries and had chance to get other citizenships through work but this is HOME now by choice not because of lack of options.

I feel like with all the issues we've here are fixable and even with those issues, we are still better off than most nations. That being said, we can and need to do better. Neither Biden nor Trump deserve to lead this nation. We need someone younger, compassionate, decent and intelligent with vision and experience.

Every day, I sit in the corner and flagellate myself with a whip for all the evil that America does.

I am grateful for the privileges it’s afforded me and I appreciate the ideals set forth in the declaration and constitution.

But it’s not the best or worst country.

You clearly lack knowledge of this topic, lack empathy and need clarity. Heartbreaking ignorance.

Western Europeans, Canadians, Australians... aren't free? That's news to my European spouse.

Children have been shot in our schools, time after time, and we do nothing. I can’t be proud of that, no matter how much good there is about America.

That's very subjective. The only thing the US is #1 in now is gun deaths.

Agree.

I'm not proud of being an American right now, though. Our country has been a laughingstock of the world since Trump ran for POTUS in 2016.

I do. I want to live somewhere else. I am counting the months to retirement.

Also, love for the nation doesn't depend on support of American government for oppressor or oppressed in another part of the world. Patriotism isn't a one issue decision.

That being said, America is supposed to be the defender of the underdogs, Israel now acts like a genocidal land grabber. We can at least stay out of it, not be the part of the problem.

Well okay. Haha. Don't worry. There are a lot of migrants coming into the country to make up the difference of this gratitude you whisper that's missing from us natural born citizens who sees the cracks you fail to see.

Now this truly is a sad state of our politicians and the future of our country.

Not proud at all. Money is so powerful that even when in debt, it continues to act rich.
There are many lovely and free places in the world. It's not one or none.
