Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
| So the info was posted online, and now isn't? Or it was never posted online? I just want to find out what information about my child is out there. |
I mentioned upthread - maybe a tort of some kind- intentional infliction of emotional distress? Hard to prove but worth a class action just to stop Callie from her ongoing crusade to take FCPS down no matter how many children she hurts. |
| They are both at fault. FCPS is understaffed and mistakes happen they don't need to deal with additional requests from someone just trying to catch them in a mistake on top of legitimate requests. There is no way she deleted that data or is storing it securely and I definitely do not trust her with my child's information. This is not the way to fix a problem. |
Translation-this doesn’t make sense to me because I don’t understand the law, but I’m really pissed. |
An article from her own journalist friend says redacted files were posted online on her website. I don't know if was posted anywhere else. Depends case by case how identifiable this is. Also, she shared the data with at least one journalist friend and the Goldwater Institute guy--so who really knows who has seen it. But since she said she's not going to share the data we're supposed to trust her on that. |
|
She went to her local high school and was provided data for 35,000 kids.
Why is countywide data available at her local high school? The info is really free flowing in FCPS. |
| Can you imagine being the teacher of this loon's kids? I'd be absolutely terrified to interact with the child in any way for fear of being put on blast all over her website. I'm sure the kids are perfectly nice like most kids, but I wonder if teachers draw straws to see who has to deal with that family on their roster. |
| As an attorney who has worked on such matters- I've seen unintentional breaches happen to NGOs and news agencies. Never once have I seen them keep the material or refuse to delete it. She's unethical. |
| I would love to sue that woman with you. |
LOL. Trust me. We do. Teachers know which parents/students to avoid enrolling or happily disenroll if given the opportunity. |
Explain it then. Breach of duty seems to be to be applicable in a negligence case. But it wouldn't apply to this because she should have never had the data in the first place. |
| How can I see the trove of redacted files she posted? |
Just a thought. If you’re actually a teacher, perhaps if teachers weren’t on DCUM during the school day instead of doing work things, maybe Callie never would have gotten the info of 35,000 kids. But I’m guessing you’re not. |
Good lord, by the time that was posted all the middle/high schools and half the elementaries were done for the day. |
Sounds like you answered your own question. She has no duty because she didn’t ask for the data and FCPS just coughed it up without asking. See: the last time this happened. |
