Can I sue Callie Oettinger?

I have personallly been emailed data from FCPS that was not my child's information. This has happened more than once. When I told them about it- they got mad at me for opening the attachment. (the attachment had no clear way to decipher that it was not my child's info). Also, I have asked who has received my childs info and have never gotten a response.

This is how FCPS treats parents and data.

The issue with what FCPS did is separate. Their actions in no way excuse or justify what this woman has done. This thread is for what SHE did. What SHE willingly did to my child is unethical and illegal. The post from today is helpful as it a written admission of guilt. Thanks Callie!

If there are/were kids on your soccer team, scout troop, church group, etc. who attended Oakwood, Commonwealth, Lab School et al. -- then their personal data has been released, compromised, and exposed by Crazy Callie.

On top of that she's righteous about it. As though using that data has a greater purpose that NO ONE consented to.

I am also disgusted ber her actions. Does anyone have a legal background who can advise on a possible class action against her? I support free speech but there is no reasonable justification for her retaining this information, especially when it's such a vulnerable population.

Callie doesn't owe you all anything. You can hate what she did, but she breached no legal duty to any of you. Get over it.

What amazes me about Callie, Harry, and Asra is the complete disregard for other FCPS students they have in their blind determination and fanaticism to TAKE DOWN FCPS at any and all cost......

This article (which is from her "trusted journalist site") says that Oettinger sent the data to Timothy Sandefur, vice president for legal affairs at the Goldwater Institute, a Phoenix-based libertarian think tank. How is this okay? Sure, he claims she's done nothing illegal. But I would definitely like another opinion on that. FCPS may not be able to criminally charge her, but parents have a different standing.

It also says that
Oettinger posted redacted documents from the recent trove on a website she runs on special education issues.

So, yes, she posted redacted documents on her website.
And then also discusses how you can get information from redacted documents.

They released information by accident while trying to respond to Callie’s abuse of FOIA and constant demands for data.

Callie could have told the school and securely deleted the information, but instead she waited and meticulously combed through children’s personal information before publishing redacted copies onto the internet. That was no accident.

Did she redact the information herself, or did she get someone else to do it? If the latter, that means she let more people have access to our children’s information. I sure hope the redaction cannot be reversed.

Does she still have this information? Is she storing information securely? Is she showing the information to others who ask her about their children? Why won’t she delete the information securely?

I’m way more disgusted with her than FCPS.
