You seem to be suggesting that there is a significant percentage of those vehicles on the road in given day. We don't have enough roads for that. DC ranks lowest for average miles driven per year.

You act like Maryland and VA drivers who live nearby don't drive in DC. Yet, if you go stand outside on a DC street and look at license plates, they will make up more than the DC tags.

I'm starting to feel multigenerational trauma from urban crime, being 50 years old with my DC native family spanning three generations of urban duress. I have friends who have moved from South Africa, Venezuela etc due to the unrelenting crime. Will DC be the same?

Why are your expectations so low? DC has provided many opportunities for youth to lift themselves up. I work in PG county with low income students of color and they are working, going to school, utilizing the resources available to them. They aren't carjacking people or stealing from stores. Acknowledge the DNA based trauma and also acknowledge the poverty harms. Poverty brings a set of trauma of its own, provide more social workers, resources in the schools, therapy for the families, etc. healthy families equal a healthy society. Healthcare should be free in this country for everyone so that people can access the resources that they need.
