VHSL 6A Boys 2023 Rankings and Results

Madison is down their fo guy tonight, otherwise I would say Madison wins also. But Lake Braddock has some horses that can’t be tamed

Rankings/analysis are tremendous, thanks for taking the time to do them. Agree with analysis almost top-to-bottom, right on based on games played to date. This week will be interesting with some good out-of-district matchups. LB/Madison game tonight should be good no matter what - though you can never tell on spring break week (find it amazing that players miss games at this level due to spring break travel).

10-9 Madison in OT

I’m assuming Madison in OT
Great bounce back win for them

LB was up 5-1 or 6-1 at one point. What a comeback.

I've watched most of these teams live now. Madison is strong, for sure. I also realize this is a very pro Madison crowd/rankings.

I think LB wins going away tonight. Warhawks are just too sloppy. I think they can get better and will be better in May but at this point LB is head and shoulders above the rest of the area.

Oakton may keep it close due to a post Warhawk "letdown". Bruins are dominant and this season will likely come down to Yorktown/LB.

Assume JWR is still seething about being bumped last year after being undefeated and having a better team than the Bruins so that will certainly be an interesting game.

I hope the teams stay healthy. Will be fun.

Comment and confidence didn’t age well! Awesome game between Madison and LB tonight. High Drama

Great win! Now we need LB or Freedom to beat Battlefield, Oakton to beat Madison, and Langley to beat Yorktown for total chaos.

Bruins jumped out to 5-0 early but Madison chipped away and took lead 7-6. Lb got lead back and up 9-7 under 2 mins. Madison scored to cut to one with a little over a minute left. Madison tied it up with 4 secs left. Both teams had overtime possessions until ‘hawks buried the game winner. 2nd game of night had far less drama with Robo getting out to a 15-2 lead over Oakton and it finished 15-4.

Ok, I’ll say it; I’m a genius. Once Battlefield beats Braddock I will officially know it all

I will say that the difference is coaching. If Madison or Robinson coaching staff had the talent that LB has I do not think it would be close this season.

LB 12 Oakton 11. Yikes

I am loving that there is no clear number one team this year so far… makes things more fun and interesting

Any of the top 5 can beat each other on any given night. I’d put Yorktown at the front of the line right now. Despite enthusiasm on this page, LB has showed their worts but they should be there in late May and June. Battlefield has a pass to state final. The gauntlet of LB/Yorktown/Madison/Robinson to get there should be fun to watch. Hope the boys stay healthy.
