We would also like to know what a flower page is as DD auditioned for 2 completely different roles and was assigned this one. She is level 2.

They dont hold auditions for every single possible role that a child at that level can do. Some things like clown for instance need a certain skill or jumping or cartwheels etc. I am pretty sure flower pages are in the second act and they give flowers to the prince and Clara and then they sit in the chairs on the side of the stage for most of act two - so fun for the kids as they get to watch most of the show. I think they have the animal masks too if I remember correctly? Like frog and bear?

I didn't know that is what that role was called. It sounds very sweet. Thank you!

We are a new family to Twsb and did not audition this year for Nutcracker. We will surely be supporting the schoolmates by attending a performance. Congratulations to all and sending endurance to Nut Families as your season begins!

Does anyone one how many shows a PB3 role will need to perform? I just counted, there are 37 shows at Warner in November/December. I understand that they won't need to perform at every single show, just trying to get an idea on the number.

There are usually six casts of mushrooms and bees, and they don’t double cast kids that young (unless they are in Party which has only three casts), so since there seem to be a few more shows this year, assume around six or seven shows.

There are 6 cases. So each cast performs ~6 shows. But you need to be available for all of them in case a child in another cast but the same spot is out.
Some roles are double/triple cast. Last year DD was double cast, so started with 12 ish shows, but then ended up needing to come in for a few more because of covid

Sorry for a silly question.. newcomer here. If your child is performing in so many shows (based on previous post, it could be 6-12), do parents normally buy tickets and watch all of them? or just watch the first one or two and drop them off for the rest of shows and pick them up at the end?

I think the flower pages are in the beige/gold costumes holding cherry blossom branches dancing with the bees and mushrooms early in the second act. I think they may have cut this role from the dance last year when they had reduced cast sizes. I remember this role when my daughter was a mushroom in 2019.

Did anyone get party girl? And if you did, could that also mean party boy? My DD got party girl but told me it could mean that she had to play a boy?

Pretty sure the flower pages are the former suger plum pages. They're woodland creatures in the Tidal Basin scene. A Deer, Frog and something else I don't remember.

Cherry Blossoms were younger, 1A roles. The Pages are Level 2/3 roles. Either way, it looks like a new role/new role title.

I just want to say that I really appreciate the veteran Nutcracker parents here who can give this level of detail about the ballet, various roles, etc. Thank you so much — v helpful to us first-timers! What role was your daughter cast in this year?

Also Donna's Q&A tomorrow will be helpful for clearing up any more questions. She is great at painting the picture.
