If you test positive it’s 10 days out, regardless of vaccination status.

Exactly. If a kid is out 10 days for covid it ends up being 5-7 due to weekends. That is why the virtual streaming should stop and kids should access stuff on Schoology.

Because vaxxed, boosted kids who catch minor COVID cases are being excluded for 10 days. That’s not the kids fault or the parents fault. Exclude vaxxed, boosted positive Hs kids for 5 days, plus 5 masked and things would be different. Parents keep asking amd Scotty says “lunch is too hard”

For all those continuing to mask, to avoid catching covid and the 10 day isolation, I would suggest advocating for the reduction of the isolation time . Mask mandates are over. End of story. Your kid can keep wearing one. But the masses won’t now that CDC says it’s not necessary. Covid will continue to circulate. Your kid might get it. Advocate for a change to isolation times. cDC already changed it!

I haven’t had any students on pause yet (knock on wood), but I think that’s basically what teachers at my school are doing anyhow and then checking in.

No, but I entered as a Sophomore and didn't really need the credits anyway. I don't think the 3-4 blocks would have hurt that much.... and if I didn't pass, wouldn't have really mattered over the trajectory of my life.
That said, keep the view that this REALLY matters and go stress over whether you kid will still be accepted to _______!

There is no requirement to test for Covid. There is no incentive to test at this point. It just means you will be forcing your child out of school for way longer than is really necessary.

How often were you testing? Other than DW who has tested a couple of times because it was required before medical procedures, we haven't had the need to test.
