So fcps will decide we have to stay masked this week but not next week. Like a week makes a big difference? |
🤷♂️ |
If we were in low Friday. We have probably been in medium for 7 days. Fcps is just making excuses. |
Yep- Every other county around has accepted this. FCPS is dragging their feet and making excuses. No need for convoluted messaging. Just say masks no longer required, feel free to wear if you want to continue. |
ES teacher here. I gave many colleagues who are immunocompromised and/or have kids under 3 at home. They said they will continue masking. |
Masking isn't going to help you. |
PP here. I guess I could have added that I’m not immunocompromised and I don’t have unvaccinated kids at home. |
Yes. I know it’s the weekend but they’ve sent statements out before. They want to look like they have control and be the decision makers even though they were relying on the CDC. They can’t control what the kids do anymore so they will control their staff. |
| New guidance just came out. Staff and parents can unmask as well starting March 1. I didn’t see anything about buses. |
| Oh look! Scott just send an email about March 1 mask optional for all. |
| Yay!!!!! |
| Yeah, did they forget about buses? I thought it's still required on buses. |
|
Yep.
Based on new CDC guidance released late Friday, FCPS is adjusting our roll back plan. Starting Tuesday, March 1, everyone, including staff, may choose whether or not to wear a mask in FCPS schools and buildings. Monday will be a day to prepare for this transition & get answers to questions. See important details on our website ⤵️ |
| Serious question - why do they need Monday to prepare? this was already coming for students for a while and they should have been prepared for a student transition. What is there to transition with staff? |
As a teacher we have a staff meeting, probably to remind us how to treat the students and situations. And some admin need a day to adjust. They aren’t going to be happy. |
