You seem to think that masks have become some kind of fetish. Not surprising from a group who made them a litmus test for "Freedumb" from the get-go.

Nobody "likes" wearing a mask. What they dislike is a bunch of people with the emotio0nal maturity of a teenager making health decisions for others because "you're not my real dad". That's really all this comes down to - you don't want to, so you're going to prolong this for everyone else because you're nopthing more than a selfish git. I’m not really trying to make a statement, or own anyone or do anything of that sort. It’s just clear to me that masks are total theater, and I have no desire to play along with it just to make people like you feel more comfortable. And, in the places where I live and spend most of my time, there’s no requirement for me to follow the rules you made up in your head.

Maybe, if people were wearing N95 masks or the like, and wearing them consistently and properly, that would have made a meaningful difference. But some thin cotton mask worn under your nose? Yeah, that was always theater.

And getting the general public to consistently wear effective masks is a pipe dream. We might as well drop masks completely, rather than continuing to fight over this meaningless measure.

I haven’t said that you need to wear a mask. I have said repeatedly that it is a courtesy and people who don’t wear them for the 35 minutes inside Walmart they are the type of people who a pound of hamburger in the toy section when they change their mind about it.

No, sorry. I reject your assertions. Youngkin has not attacked public safety measures in any way. He has encouraged everyone to get vaccinated - repeatedly. What he is not going to do is MANDATE the wearing of masks (or vaccines). But by all means, continue to mask up indefinitely. Just don't try and order others to do the same.

I find this all fascinating. Dems don’t actually think that we should “mask forever” and masks will definitely come off again soon… surge is waning, immunity is high. Republicans here desperately want to be able to claim the return to normal as a win, so they’re creating this narrative that Dems are standing in the way. The reality is, things will go back to normal, just because that’s what happens with pandemics. I wear a mask whenever I see a sign asking me to. There are no local mandates but I respect the establishments I enter enough to comply. Because I’m not anti-social like you PP. yes we are all fellow travelers. It’s not virtue signaling to be patient, knowing that things will be normal again really soon. Remember how normal it was last summer? We’re almost there again.
