The thread was started back in December 2021, well before Sabio was running. By that time Frisch had already pushed through one of the dumbest initiatives ever championed by an FCPS School Board member.

It’s now almost two years later and Frisch has done nothing to undo that incredibly poor decision. To the contrary, he tried to avoid responsibility by trying unsuccessfully to run for state office so he wouldn’t be around when the sh*t hit the fan. He only decided to run for school board again when it became obvious he had no political alternatives. Then he also voted to increase the salary of board members starting next year.

Sabio is a local hero for having helped a kid escape the Ukraine during hostilities, but even more importantly he is not Frisch. Frisch’s demonstrated incompetence should disqualify him from getting another term, but a lot of folks have no clue as to what a dope he is and just how much taxpayer money he is wasting.

Once again, all I hear is “Frisch Frisch Frisch.” Tell me WHY SHOULD I VOTE FOR TONY SABIO?

Helping a kid get out of Ukraine is cool and I commend him for serving his country, but I want to know what makes him qualified for school board and what policies he will actually implement.

Np—but this has been asked and answered…which you pointed out yourself: He’s not Frisch!
That’s it.
That’s the answer.
And honestly, sometimes (and specifically here)—that’s more than sufficient.

In fact, I’d argue that it’s the exact same reason that many of us voted for Biden. The alternative was Trump!
(And why Trump voters voted for him in 2016…the alternative was Hillary !!)

Thanks! This is telling. The only reason you are voting for Sabio is because he is not Frisch. You have no excitement for him, are not energized for him, etc.

“I’m not Karl Frisch,” seems to be Tony Sabio’s entire platform. Not enough to get me to vote for him.

Not PP, nor is simply not being Frisch Sabio’s entire platform, so stop with the lies. However, Frisch absolutely deserves to be booted. He’s an imbecile and if he gets another term you know very well he’ll look to run for another office as soon as the opportunity presents itself. He has the brains of a flea and the attention span of a gnat.

Again, you keep saying this but go into no detail about what Sabio actually wants to do.

He has THREE issues listed on his website, and none of them go into specifics. I’ve seen more detailed platforms for student government!

Unseating Frisch, who is both frivolous and incompetent, is a perfectly valid and adequate reason to vote against him. If you like something else in Sabio’s platform, that’s a bonus.

The fact that you act like there’s some presumption that Frisch deserves to keep his position speaks to the sense of entitlement on his part.

Well at least Frisch doesn’t try to shake hands with the empty space in front of him and can climb stairs without falling every step and a half.
He may be an incompetent representation who wastes taxpayer dollars and unnecessarily complicates school capacity concerns, but he’s not a dementia patient.

Huh? Are you suggesting he’s a step up from Biden?

You can read his platform: https://sabio4fairfax.com/platform

It’s a bit pointed to ask about Sabio’s “qualifications” when Frisch has no degree and obviously had no qualifications for the position in 2019 other than raising money for local Democrats, primarily from wealthy LBGTQ donors.

Regardless of how much you try to steer attention to Sabio, the fact that Frisch is currently wasting tens of millions of taxpayer money should not go ignored, as much as you might like to disregard that inconvenient truth.

His website doesn’t really tell much. I wouldn’t call that a platform.

He should start a thread on DCUM.

If he can’t do that, I’m not voting for him.

I had a brief conversation with Karl Frisch asking him for help with a specific action my child's school took that resulted in releasing private information about my child to other many other parents at the school in violation of Federal laws. He told me he would investigate and get back to me. He never got back to me. A school board member should be available to help parents with specific problems a family is facing with the school the child attends. It seems from many of the comments in this thread that he has a history of not listening to parents or working with parents to resolve specific problems in their schools. He should be voted out for that reason alone.

The overcrowding is temporarily fixed. The numbers will increase as the Covid classes transition out of ES. Are new families choosing private? I don’t think so.

and there would be a simple boundary adjustment with Stenwood that would fix this problem if it comes to be. We didn't need the $60 million man to come up with a wasteful solution to a problem that may not exist.

If you look at the membership numbers for Shrevewood, the current second grade class is the largest at 116, followed by sixth grade at 104 and then first grade at 93.

I think the current principal solved the overcrowding issue due to the Level IV cluster model. You can see the increased numbers at Lemon Road.
