There is an elementary school in Alexandria that has 3/4ths of its 5th grade class out sick and there is a 6th grade class that has more than 1/2 of its kids out. Those kids were all masked and that apparently didn't make much of a difference at alll. Community spread is a real thing. Adult spread is low because adults are vaccinated. Kids aren't. Frankly I am appalled that we haven't begun closing schools and doing virtual for the K-5 set. The risk and negative health outcomes aren't worth the juice for keeping schools open. I would like to see K-5 schools closed until the kids are vaccinatedc.

It's not true. Polk has sent home classrooms of kids to quarantine because one kid in the class tested positive. Entire classrooms, nor majority of classrooms, are not getting sick. The masks are working, nobody else is testing positive after the initial kid, and kids are just forced to be home for a few weeks.

No choice but to vote Youngkin. We need a balance of power in VA. Liberal policies have really hurt our schools. Still no apology for keeping schools closed by the Democratic leadership last year. It’s clear to all of us that schools could have stayed open with proper risk mitigation.

Very funny - these people think a piece of cloth prevents virus particles that are smaller than the fiber threads in the cloth from spreading, but kids elsewhere throughout Europe and the US are going to school without masks and that must be ignored.
