High schools are almost fully vaccinated with very low cases. And they are still masked. Don't assume that vaccinations and very low cases will get your kids unmasked with current leadership. It won't. |
Nope. We still have “substantial” community spread - numbers are similar to last April. Once we get down to yellow/blue, the mask requirement will drop. |
No we don't. Especially not amongst kids. |
Yes, we do. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view|Virginia|51013|Risk|community_transmission_level Arlington County, Virginia State Health Departmentexternal icon 7-day Metrics | 7-day Percent Change Community Transmission Substantial Everyone in Arlington County, Virginia should wear a mask in public, indoor settings. Arab poster here. Not sure if I said this in a previous post but I’m not voting for McAuliffe since democrats don’t seem to have any solutions to make schools better. It seems like democrats think that throwing money at schools in a solution in and of itself without delivering better educational outcomes. I will not be voting for Youngkin because clearly the guy is bat shit crazy and doesn’t seem to have any solutions either. I usually can bring myself to suck it up and vote for the democratic candidate at the end but not this time. I just can’t do it. I will say that Youngkin’ ad highlighting McAuiliffe saying that parents shouldn’t tell schools what to teach really did it for me. I watched the entire clip and I am still bothered by what McAuliffe said. But still won’t be voting for Youngkin. |
DP. He’d govern from the center-right. |
Are you voting for blanding? |
|
Yes we do. There is an elementary school in Alexandria that has 3/4ths of its 5th grade class out sick and there is a 6th grade class that has more than 1/2 of its kids out. Those kids were all masked and that apparently didn't make much of a difference at alll. Community spread is a real thing. Adult spread is low because adults are vaccinated. Kids aren't. Frankly I am appalled that we haven't begun closing schools and doing virtual for the K-5 set. The risk and negative health outcomes aren't worth the juice for keeping schools open. I would like to see K-5 schools closed until the kids are vaccinatedc. |
Fake news. What elementary school? |
Polk |
There's a really big difference between "out sick" and "quarantining for 14 days for being a close contact". Polk has a crapload of quarantined kids, I don't buy that 3/4 of the class is actually sick. |
If you want to ever remove masks, you’re an evil Trumper. In fact, you’re single handedly trying to destroy democracy, kill all the puppies, and pour sewage into city streets. Just beating the other poster to it . . . |
Just voted for Youngkin - first time I've ever in my life voted for a Republican. Also voted for Miyares since he said he'll sue any school district that closes. And I voted for Sears just to troll the Arl Dems political leaders.
Once McAuliffe 2 weeks ago refused to condemn school closures 2 weeks ago to the National Journal, Youngkin was an easy vote. I trust Youngkin over the woke nuts on Arlington's School Board, County Board and Arl Dems Steering Committee any day. |
Cool story, bro. Enjoy Governor Trumpkin! |
