Do you think the VA governor's race will have an impact on NoVA school board elections?

If Youngkin is elected of course it will change. For the worst. It will be horrible.

Republicans don't care about schools they care about controlling you. They don't deserve any votes ever again, who votes for those traitors. Seriously my grandfather is rolling over in his grave he fought for every single person to vote. UGH

Trump told you not to vote people don't vote. Pay attention to your fearless cult leader.

But this year I will be in the SB race. In our local SB race, I am so turned off by the behavior of my fellow Democrats on our SB that I will probably be voting for their Republican opponents. And I am definitely not voting for our current Democratic mayor (although I am not sure if I will vote for an opponent or do a write-in for Daffy Duck). I don't know which came first but either way the outcome is a hot mess for me.

BS any one Democratic is not voting Republican

No that would be two. Count me in. I am voting straight republican. And there are many more.

Then you are a moron.

Do you not understand Republicans will never let your vote count after this election? Can you not read? Clearly you have no idea what Republicans have been doing all over the country.

People you are missing it. Your daughters will be sub humans to them. Your children's education will be garbage.

Trump told you not to vote do what he said given you are not using your own brain.

Well, when you put it that way ...

Seriously. Posts like yours do more harm than good. I can see the spittle shooting out of your mouth from here. Walk away from DCUM and take a break. When you're calmer then come back and try to respond in a way that doesn't make you seem like a raging lunatic. Thank you.

NP here. It's frustrating that people cannot pay attention long enough to see the power Trump exerts on his whole party -- how they jump when he tells them to -- and how Youngkin is right there with him. He is no Larry Hogan - he is inspired by Trump and will change our election laws because of Trump's delusional belief that he won the 2020 election.

People need to pay attention and stand up for our country.

A year and a half? How do you get that math?

Are you including the summer? And hybrid?

Yes. Hybrid was a joke and you know it.

Not for my kids, it wasn't. My kids thrived. It was probably one of the best years we have ever had as a family. The kids learned a lot because all of the bozo behavior problems weren't online and the teachers were rocking it. Plus we were all a lot more relaxed because the school schedule was so easy. It was a pita for my husband and me because we had to change our work schedules pretty dramatically but there is no denying that our kids thrived during hybrid.

That's nice for you. It was horrible for those of us with kids in K and 1st.

Okay. However that doesn't mean you get to make false claims for the rest of us. My family did great as well. We could pivot back to hybrid very easily. In some ways I wish we would. What I'm hearing about some of these schools is very alarming.

You can hold yourself out as the majority if you want, but a big reason the governor race is remotely close is because of how last year went.

Yes, and the blame is at the top with Trump and how he handled this crisis. Denied it was here, downplayed the impacts, would not let the experts speak out. Tried to make it a war on China.

The voters in the margins making this a close race aren't looking at Trump. They're looking at the local school boards.

Alexandria City voters, besides crazy anti-masker Ish Boyle and 1776 project Debbie Ash, who are the Republicans candidates running for school board? It’s technically a non-partisan race so hard to tell.

Y’all should write in Trump

This is a thread about local school board elections.

The only people that think and talk about Trump more than Trump himself are Democrats.

Funny how Youngkin was happy to bend over to get Trump’s endorsement.

First, the SB is "non-partisan" but if you're voting for Debbie Ash or Ish Boyle or Catchings (a flight attendant who moved here LAST YEAR)....I don't even know what to say.

NP. I assume your household has a SAHP, then?

I'm in the district where Ish is running and I'm honestly considering just leaving the school board section of the ballot blank. I don't want to vote for the status quo but that doesn't mean I want to vote for that loon.

Honestly it's pretty effin hilarious there are people right in this thread admitting they've never voted republican before but they're happy to vote for a death cult now because of *checks notes* emotional pandemic spite
