Except the issue will come up again and again. A situation whereby the R's never have to vote to pay our credit card bill is not sustainable. It just keeps the delusion going and allows the R's to continue to abdicate basic responsibility.

Lol, theyve done more than enough deficit spending on their own. The debt doesn't belong to only one side and more importantly the debt ceiling isnt about future spending. It's about paying for past spending. Since we've been running deficits for decades every single bill that's been voted on is included. Even the vote itself, since it's broadcast by cspan, uses electricity and has to be published, causes debt that must be repaid.
