+1 Sounds like they found a way out of the mess. R's won't have to vote on it and D's can get it passed through. Win-win.

Except the issue will come up again and again. A situation whereby the R's never have to vote to pay our credit card bill is not sustainable. It just keeps the delusion going and allows the R's to continue to abdicate basic responsibility.

Rs said they would vote for bipartisan spending not d only spending.

Except R spending is only associated with tax cuts.

Dems will have to include a number in their bill down the road. Rs have Manchin on not blowing up the filibuster. I am not sure of your analysis here.

Then Manchin will be solely responsible for the downfall of the United States and global economy.

Lol, theyve done more than enough deficit spending on their own. The debt doesn't belong to only one side and more importantly the debt ceiling isnt about future spending. It's about paying for past spending. Since we've been running deficits for decades every single bill that's been voted on is included. Even the vote itself, since it's broadcast by cspan, uses electricity and has to be published, causes debt that must be repaid.

Heck, just existing as a Senator incurs debt that must be repaid and requires the debt ceiling to be raised. Salary, benefits, health insurance, office staff, etc

Yep, that is the goal, keep the Bannon "flood them with BS" mantra going and hope people are too stupid to see what they are doing and fall for the gaslighting to take power once again - permanently.
