It’s fine that current and alum parents believe this. But what I believe is going to happen is that they will completely clean house at NCRC and get rid of a ton of administrators who were there under JC’s tenure. Maybe it’s my MBA speaking, but this would be a standard reaction to a scandal this big and this gross. Current families might see the “magic” of NCRC, but remember they need to recruit new families…new families need a lot of reassurance when it comes to where they are sending their very young children.

There are not a "ton of administrators" at NCRC to get rid of.

Your MBA was worthless if it taught you to make diagnoses and preach to others without first gathering real facts (not facts from situations you presume, but don't know, to be analogous).

Exactly. Go to law school next time to learn about due process.

Wasn't he the boss of the NCRC "administrators?" The people responsible here are the board members who hired him. Nobody else. You're going to blame teachers or admin staff, who aren't the ones how hired him?

Genuinely curious what the board should/could have done? Referencing and background checks, both likely very robust, likely turned up nothing. Now if either identified anything troubling and he was hired despite serious concerns/issues, then I can see how the board is responsible. But otherwise??

DP, all of the above dropped the ball on this one. Each and every one.

You all failed the students. Look in the mirror instead of passing the buck. What could you have done differently?

how exactly did they drop the ball?? He had no record---worked at Beauvoir and Concord Hill without issue. He did not play in a roll in the classroom life of NCRC. What in the world should they have done differently?

James was extremely effective at his job at ncrc. Kids consistently got into their top choices. When you give a person like that the power you’re blinded to warning signs bc the system is working. They’d time the audition a week before notifications came out and if you follow the money people who gave got into their top choices. Just like every private school in dc and everywhere. And that all being said - he was a very odd dude. No one was close with him. He offered coming to your house to read bedtime stories as an auction item and it was gossiped about how creepy that would be. That’s ignoring signs.

It is absolutely true around 2018-2020! It was Peppa Pig and various other British bedtime stories! Ask parents from around then! We all used to talk about it!

I don’t think you should discount or make jokes as he spent decades hiding behind his British stereotypical presentation - he fit in easily and successfully with the upper DC class because of that and that identity clearly helped him
