No parents at our MLSN club ever talk about MLS teams. They think MLSN is a scam as well, and this is tier 1 parents. Can’t imagine what tier 2 parents think.

When Messi retires, MLS will just import another world legend who is just about to retire -- that's exactly what they've done for decades.

You mean kinda like Ibrahimovic (right before Messi)

Fun fact, Pele and Cruyff both played for US pro teams.

Yes, there is a very clear historical pattern that it takes seeing an international player past their prime to make a soccer match in the US relevant.

Ugh Cruyff played 4 years more in Dutch leagues after playing in the US, and won the league title 2x more with 2 different teams. The examples were given to fix your preconception.

Seems the OP statement still holds true. MLS needs an aging international superstar as the poster boy. They also need us though. Big pay day and they get to still look good against 5th or 6th tier talent.

Got my first email from an MLSN1 club with the 'MLS Next Homegrown' division language. Seems it is official that MLSN1 will be called MLS Next Homegrown and MLSN2 will be called MLS Next Academy. Thoughts on this? Logically, it just doesn't make sense in my brain, but maybe that is just me? It also doesn't quite convey which league is 'above' the other, which I find strange.

It's really par for the course in youth soccer. What's in a name?

The top league in USYS has been forever called "National League"

ECNL stands for "Elite Clubs National League"

Seems like EVERY organization calls some of their programs "academy" ... From GA "Girls Academy" to and MLS "academies" to the NAL "National Academy League" and USL Academy. I've also seen a few ECNL clubs call their girls program their "girls academy"!

Did someone say MLSN can start their own BY u-little ecosystem?

This is an organization that still haven't announced the names of its tiers , 1 month away from the start of season.

The person has been writing a fantasy novel about MLSN and NWSL destroying ECNL and all of the other leagues that went 8/1.

Why does the name of a tier matter? Clubs know there will be tiers and that they need to put together teams.

Honestly this sounds like something a parent whos kid didnt make a MLSN team would say.

No, multiple people are pointing out that there are many different potential outcomes. You obviously have your ECNL hat screwed on tight and want a specific outcome to occur. Which is odd because why do you care what other leagues do?

I don't care what MLSN does, we have experience with both leagues. Why does calling out MLSN ineptitude bother you so much?

Its just so onvious that you have an irrational hatred for MLSN.

Sorry your kid got cut from the team. Maybe playing at a lower more appropriate level will help them out. Just think how lucky you would be if your kid had an Aug birthday and they could play down with kids a grade below them in school when ECNL switches to SY.
