Hayfield Investigation Report

Someone needs to FOIA the report. It will take time and probably be costly, but the information needs to come out about what information the school leaders used to "clear" Hayfield in August and what information was used to remove them from the playoffs in November. From the outside it looks like FCPS chose to ignore issues in August and got caught in November and was forced to act.

HAHAHA. "The lawyers" meaning the private outside counsel FCPS hires is advising Reid not to release the report written by the OTHER outside lawyers.

Cafferky --who is telling Reid not to release--probably violated multiple ethical rules and that was probably highlighted in the report from the OTHER lawyers.

FCPS always does this - promises and independent external investigation, uses external counsel to investigate and prepare the report and then claim attorney client privilege to withhold it from the public. It’s infuriating.

Would a FOIA request even cover this?

I'm sure there are enough angry coaches/parents etc that could crowdsource the funds to cover the costs if someone was to take the initiative to file the request. I'd donate.

Yes, that's why it's important - on such a public and reported topic - to hold them accountable. They're counting on short attention spans. At some point, those in leadership somewhere need to held accountable for their conduct and their decisions. Particularly to try to haul VHSL itself(!) into court to avoid admitting their own mistakes. Public funds paid for that report - FOIA should also apply.

FCPS spend a fortune defending Hayfield and another fortune getting multiple reports from outside law firms. We should get to see what we are paying for.

City of Fairfax School Board just slammed Reid for her incompetence in not bringing the allegations relating to Fairfax HS to a conclusion.

It’s nice that a few officials call out Reid for her incompetence. God knows the likes of Sandy Anderson, Karl Frisch, and Robyn Lady never will.

My favorite part is how the Fairfax story was insanely spun up.

Kid on JV moved to Fairfax zone, and family was friends with a coach. The coach loaned them some money for rent. The kid didn’t play much or at all.

Kid then goes to St James and tells coaches about the story who blow it the F up.

Explain how I got the above story wrong please lol. Violation? Sure. Same level as Hayfield almost tripling the number of homeless kids over two years at the school to play football? Hahaha. Ok.
