Haha. In the year of CoVid, friendlies have become quite common. Most have actual refs to simulate a game like feel. Here are some facts for many of you NOVA parents and Bethesda 2008 haters. I am pretty sure one of you is also a Potomac parent...

Bethesda is currently ranked higher than all NOVA Clubs except VDA. Wish we were able to play the friendly today....

As for Friendlies this fall (from what I remember)
Bethesda 2-0 over FCV GA
Bethesda 4-0 over Arlington GA
Bethesda 5-0 over Penn Classics GA
Bethesda 5-0 over SYC Blue
Bethesda 5-1 over Coppermine Premier
Bethesda 4-2 over McLean ECNL
Bethesda 4-2 over Celtic Union GA

As for ECNL looks can be deceiving, Bethesda finished 0-4-1. 3 of the 4 losses were to teams ranked higher than VDA ECNL, Pipeline, Penn Fusion and FC Bucks. One bad loss to FC Bucks. Only one of these games was decided by more than one goal. All of this with its Center Mid injured in the first game and did not play another until the McLean ECNL game. She did play in the first 3 friendlies.

You can try to redirect, deflect, or whatever you like. The fact is that unless you are a parent of a VDA player, you should probably stop the attacks and move on. Results don't lie and they show Bethesda is doing much better than you think they are.

So Bethesda is +25 goal differential in scrimmages but a -6 in league games yet we are supposed to believe scrimmages are the same as games?

I've watched a few Bethesda older girls teams, it wouldn't surprise me if they've got one or two very athletic center backs who look like they are 9th graders that just lock down the defense. if they're not getting scored on it's probably because they park one or two of those players at the back so they can outrun anybody on the other team's offense.

A girls team with a big physical center back...I am shocked! Let me guess they were also a defender in lacrosse? These type of players must be very hard find yet every team has them.
