The only time the leagues need to say anything about the registration cutoff is before tryouts, and that’s a long way away. I can see MLSN and GA slow playing it to keep people on board as long as possible. But if you believe the change to SY will be a better fit for your DD or DS, then you better be looking at those leagues and teams this fall and spring.

Your logic makes no sense.

MLSN GA have all current BY rules defined. You seem to think that if a competitor makes a change that they have to respond? Again, MLSN GA have all current BY rules defined.
They wouldn't be responding to a competitor, they are going to have to respond to a supplier. The supplier provides mostly Aug-Dec players but MLSN/GA under BY would need Jan-May players. They will kick and scream but ultimately have to adjust to supply chain issues to maintain revenues and go SY. This is a business.

Why?

If MLSN stayed BY they'd get all the 1/1 to 4/1 players. If ECNL went SY MLSN could recruit all the top 8/1 to 12/1 players to MLSN and bioband them.

Exactly, all the ECNL hats that think they have this all figured out will be in for a surprise then it doesnt happen.

MLSN 2/GA and down are just money makers (hopefully) for them so they will SY more than likely. If some players in MLSN2 can play MLSN then they will fit them into their BY teams.

The longer MLSN and GA say nothing the more likely them staying BY becomes.

I think theyre holding out to see what happens with NCAA and US Soccer.

To be fair, MLSN doesn't seem to communicate well about, well, anything. So this is pretty par for the course. I don't think it is indicative of what they are planning. Hell, they still haven't officially announced the name of MLSN2 and that kicks off in some areas of the country next month! They won't say anything, either way, until the last possible moment is my guess. That's what they do with literally everything else. Of course, what the 'last possible moment' is is anyone's guess...

We just joined an MLSN club and it has been a struggle to get anything out of the directors or the league itself, I realize that is kind of par for the course, but I have not been impressed with the competition or their organization so far.

I dont believe you.

I'm not that person, but what don't you believe?

This is an anonymous forum. People make up playing for teams clubs and leagues that theyre not involved in all the time. Usually to say something negative about it.

That has been our experience so far. Does your child play for MLSN? Can you give us a positive review about your experience?

I see that youre doubling down. Instead of concocting an elaborate lie why dont you just tell everyone why you like whatever league your kid plays in.

Tell us why you love MLSN so much?

The person you are responding to has never had a kid in MLSN. But I'll answer for fun. I like it because it is (at the moment) the best soccer platform to help my kid play D1 (which is what he swears he wants to do). I have an older kid playing D3 (transferring to D2 in the fall). Other than that, it is the most poorly run and organized 'league' I have ever seen. It makes state level USYS run leagues look like mensa members. Then you throw in the complete lack of any accountability to their own rules (talking the obvious scamming with bioband players and the scamming with the 'no high school wink wink') and it is a shit-fest.

Nice job. I knew if I didnt say anything that you couldn't resist answering your own post.

The two things I can see happening if MLSN GA and DPL stay BY is that the big local tournaments where teams from different leagues play each other will be a thing of the past and littles leagues based on BY/SY will probably occur.

Don't forget that GA can run its own paperwork.

They could make GA start at u5

I hope GA does well, but for all its faults, USYS, owns the u-little space and its switching to SY.

Nope I am the op, why is hard to believe that they suck at communicating and organizing? These are the same people that ran DA into the ground.

Utter chaos and would make age be the only thing coaches, parents and kids fixate on, further distracting this country from better youth development

Biobanding for p2p MLSN is a total scam. Crazy parents will let their kids to play down one year in order to stay in top league.

I dont care either way. Although personally I prefer BY.

But, it would be fun to watch USYS + others go though all the work to switch to SY only to lose a significant chunk of their registrations $$$ to GA. Even more funny because if they did nothing (staying BY) they'd have more money. 🤣

Suddenly SY+30 with a 9/1 cutoff doesn't sound that bad anymore. When other options become known.

GA organizing a ulittles league that overtakes USYS and US Club is probably the most laughable thing that I have read on this thread...kudos

Agree with the other poster on MLSN delaying an extra year before switching to SY. They made implicit promises/relationships via extra trainings to Q1 kids and while they had the chance to try and unwind them and push the Q4 kids towards the best teams and positions, based on tryouts, they haven't acted yet. After a year of the young kids under SY they will realize that the Q1 kids entering U13 will be playing the less premier positions, being on the B teams and playing soccer as a second sport. Tough to maintain the illusion of elite is if you the players you take weren't younger stars but are now merely a bit bigger and older than the rest because they were born in Q1.
