I saw this at a football game against a different team and frankly was shocked. Lots of bad behavior by lots of team parents but PVI takes it to a new level.

Landon fogo was the main difference. Dominated whoever Bullis put in.
Landon plays much more team oriented on both offense and defense.
Landon plays much more disciplined on offense.
Landon coaches much much better than Bullis coaches. It’s not even close here.
Landon clearly has a philosophy and structure.
Mahar had moments, but that is all.
Better team won.

I didn't get to watch the game, but I would think that if Landon won all the faceoffs they were probably about equal or worse than Bullis at everything else.

If they had more of the ball but the game was tied until the end, doesn't that mean that Bullis had the better offense and defense?

Genuinely interested to hear your take

Landon was thr better team tonight.

They led from start to finish.

Whenever Bullis seemed to be grabbing momentum, the Bears would respond.

Landon is the best team in the area right now, they are 12-1 for a reason.

Still plenty of ball left to be played on both the IAC and WCAC but the Bears are by far the most consistent team in the area.

Post Friday's Top Ten

1. Landon 11-8 winner over Bullis as the Bears pull away late
2. Bullis should really try passing more than once before shooting
3. Georgetown Prep 16-4 winner over SSSAS solidifies the spot
4. DeMatha 10-9 OT win over PVI and a big week
5. Good Counsel 10-7 win over GZ as they never let the Eagles get within 1 in the 2nd half
6. St. John's will have to win out even to get to #3
7. Gonzaga has seen these late season results before
8. St. Albans (really) winner over EHS and H and OT loser to GC
9. Episcopal by default
10. St. Mary's Ryken can hold or fold with their remaining schedule

Outside looking in: Paul VI will be looking again towards next year, Heights as plucky isn't enough. Langley swept in SC, Urbana loses to a rec team.

Landon FOGO is incredible and was last night but didn’t win all but one faceoff. Both teams goalies were insane too. The game wasn’t tied until the end - bears started the second half up 3. Bullis tied it up and Landon pulled away again and that was it. Prior to that it was goal for goal. Great game.

Also noteworthy - Landon did a 10 man ride but then it looked like Bullis pulled their goalie at the end??? Hockey style?? I’ve never seen that in lacrosse before. They were down 3 with very little time left so I’m assuming it was just to practice that for when/if the time comes that it might help them tie or win but was still creative and ballsy and if anyone knows more about that please chime in.

Landon's depth showed last night, they have two very good fogo's.Bullis star Fogo played but has been dealing with a hurt hamstring all season and was a relative non-factor.

Landon's goalie had 10+ saves. Bullis goalie was solid but nothing to rave about.

I've seen remarks about Landon's depth all year. Yes, they play 2 lines but the 2nd line doesn't contribute at all except to give the 1st line a quick rest. They play 3 attack, 3 poles (4 on man up) and 1 goalie like everyone else. The d middies and lsm's are where they play several but only bc none are above the others. I guess this means the rest of the area can barely put 10-12 players out there that are functional.

DMV Rankings:

1. Landon (13-1): The Bears are 13-1 for a reason and continue to display strong, consistent lacrosse. The Bears are a complete team with depth in all areas of the field. The Two-headed monster at the face-off X gives them an edge over any team.

2. DeMatha (10-4): The senior-laden Stags are on a mission to bring the WCAC ship back to Hyattsville. DeMatha continues to find ways to win games, 2 of their last 4 victories have come in OT.

3. Bullis (12-3): Despite the loss last night, the Bulldogs have the offensive talent to compete with anyone. Fogo play is a concern.

4. Georgetown Prep (7-6): The Lil Hoyas have been very erratic this season but have the athletes to compete with anyone. The Hoyas seem to have found their stride and their victory over GC last week looks even better this morning.

5. St Johns (7-5): The Cadets are dealing with some injurious this spring have have also played inconsistent lacrosse. Don't sleep on them as I fully anticipate they are going to get hot at the right time and will make a run in the WCAC playoffs.

6. Good Counsel (10-4): The Falcons picked up a monster victory over Gonzaga last night, arugably one of the bigger victories in the Dane Smith era.

7. Paul VI: (6-7): Despite the Panthers record, these guys continue to put teams on the ropes. Nearly knocked off DeMatha last nigtht and SJC the week before. The Panthers are scrappy.

8. St. Albans (6-7): The Bulldogs picked up a good victory over Episcopal yesterday aftenoon. STA has improved in the past week after the return of a key offensive player who has missed a good portion of the season.

9. Episcopal (6-6): The Maroon have lost 4 out of their last 5 contests. The Mad Lax hype is fading

10. St Mary's Ryken (8-4): brutal strech of games for the Knights next week with tilts with GC, PVI and GZ all games on the road.

Wishing everyone a happy Easter weekend.

Can someone who actually attended the DM - PVI game explain what took place?

From an objective perspective, did any adults physically grab HS aged players?

Wrong
Dematha's 4 loses to SMR, Lasalle, SMA and BULLIS don't compare to losing to Landon, Spalding and StP.
Maybe DM rises to 3rd if they win the WCAC, but that league is very scrambled right now and I'm not sure they have any significant wins to give props to their current top team.

Almost. He was 14-21 which is really impressive against what will be college commit fogo's.

After the game in the parking late PVI parents began to get into the face of some DeMatha players along with some other DeMatha baseball players which led to a PVI parent putting hands onto a DeMatha player and then the scuffle was broken up. However the cops were called and other PVI parents were trying to instigate and chirp at DeMatha players who were standing in the parking lot at there cars.
