Any thoughts towards this Dematha v Gonzaga game tonight? I’ve been toying with game all day in my head. Zaga looked really solid vs PVI, but Dematha’s been the team to beat all year.

What do you guys think?

GZ dad here, obvs I hope GZ wins but last game DM legit stomped us, never felt like we were in that game. Some of our guys are back from injury so that helps the offense. My heart says GZ but my head thinks this is a toss-up with the edge to DM playing at home.

Do you think missing your three best offensive players had something to do with losing last game? Please try to have a more positive attitude.

Commentary

The two best teams in the DMV collide in the IAC Championship in what I think will be a very hard fought and close game. Landon came out on top three weeks ago, 11-8. The Bears never trailed in that game and controlled the majority of the tempo despite Bullis evening up the game in the 4th. Landon went on a furious run in the final five minutes to win by 3.
Both squads are very well coached and are senior heavy this season, it shouldn't be a surprise these teams are squaring off in the championship.

Attack: the Bulldogs have the edge at attack with Mahar (Penn) and Anzelone (Navy). These two compliment one another very well and have been tough to stop all season. Without a doubt, this is the best attack duo in the region.

Midfield: the Bears have the horses to run 2 full midfields and their depth will certainly be a big factor in this game. Southworth (Princeton) Stewart (Penn) Luger (Delaware) Neverosky (Navy)

Defense: the Bears have the slight edge with Cassidy (Penn) and Smink (W&L) anchoring the defense.

FOGO: While Landon has a two headed monster with Smith (Lafayette) and Goozh (Michigan), Bullis Cooper Revis (Princeton) is finally healthy. I anticipate Bullis will have the edge at face-off circle. Face-off wing play will be a key area to watch as the game un-folds.

Goalie Play: Even

Final Thoughts

This is going to be a battle for a full 48 minutes. While Bullis has the firepower and the stronger individual playmakers on the offensive side of the field, the Bears depth will be hard to overcome. Landon's intangible's should be the difference in this game, they "ride" as hard as any team I've seen all year and clear the ball extremely well.

Prediction

Bears 11, Bulldogs 9

Good luck to both teams and coaching staffs. Congrats to both squads for having an awesome season. Lets hope the rain is out of here by the 5pm face-off time.

Yes, I do think that had something to do with the loss, which is why I wrote "some of our guys are back from injury so that helps the offense."

Bullis Navy, Tampa and OSU poles vs Landon's Bucknell, Holy Cross and 2027 #1 club team attack
Slight advantage to Landon as the Holy Cross commit is a late bloomer and Bucknell commit could've played at a higher level

Bullis St. Joe's, Navy, uncommitted middies vs Landon's Penn, Princeton, Navy middies
Advantage Landon as 2 of the 3 are 2-ways and all 3 are tough covers.

Bullis Navy, Penn, uncommitted attack vs Landon's W&L, Penn, D3 poles
Advantage Bullis as they can score in bunches

Bench
Don't expect the bench to see much time. Landon probably has a small advantage.

Goalie
Bullis Dickinson and Landon uncommitted. Even.

Fogo
Bullis Princeton vs Landon Michigan and Lafayette
Slight advantage Landon given the first game and the ability to find the hot guy

Home Field
Big one for Landon as they probably had more fans than Bullis at the regular season game at Bullis

Prediction
Landon wears out Bullis through the course of the game and wins 11-8

I tend to agree with this. I think Landon actually wins by more than five. Bullis looks good when they are in control but they just don't win close games, when they are tested. Mentally not proven they are strong enough to overcome adversity. The program has tremendously underperformed with the talent they have. Blame coaching or whatever you want.

Please stop "tending to agree". This conversation is not carefully or academic. Just agree or disagree in the future. Per chat GPT:
The phrase “I tend to agree” can come off as pretentious because it implies a kind of detached, measured approval rather than straightforward agreement. It often suggests the speaker is:
1. Distancing themselves slightly from full commitment — like they’re reserving the right to disagree later.
2. Signaling nuance or sophistication — as if they’ve weighed many perspectives and, after due intellectual process, have tended toward agreement.
3. Overcomplicating something simple — instead of just saying “I agree,” they introduce ambiguity or self-importance.

It’s not always pretentious, though — context and tone matter a lot. In careful or academic conversation, “I tend to agree” might be a polite way to show thoughtful alignment without claiming absolute certainty.
