Yeah, they are taking it personal.

"FCPS conducted “Residency checks” on Aug. 7 before the district appeal hearings. VHSL said, “The Findings and Recommendations of three reports were that bonafide address findings were either inconclusive or bonafide addresses was difficult to resolve because the student could stay at his mother's residence in Fairfax County as well as staying at his parent's address in Prince William County on any given day of the week.” Only one residency check of the four was confirmed.

Thompson dismissed the claim and said Hayfield officials conducted residency checks for 14 transfer students and completed them Aug. 26 “because of student vacations and trips during the summer break,” only putting them on the Master Eligibility List if they were confirmed."

Does anyone really believe that a supposedly superstar team filled with potential D1 recruits has any player that is allowed to or otherwise schedules vacations in August during the pre-season and around the first games of the season?!?!?!?

If you're going to lie, at least make it semi-plausible.

My good sir, you sound like an idiot with NO basis of ur rhetoric. My kid played D1 football and we damn sure did go on family vacation, because that’s what was scheduled and paid for. Stop trying to be in someone else’s pockets and or household. If the kid is already a D1,recruit how does the vacation hurt.?

If ur gonna ramble make it make sense, as you say.

Well, if I don’t get to see play HS football in Virginia tomorrow night because of some more Hayfield shenanigans - at least I get to see Mike Tyson knockout Jake Paul.

This makes far more sense to me from an economic harm perspective than FCPS.

Fairfax Underground is indeed a questionable site and has degraded over the years. The guy who sustains the high school football thread is legitimate and has relevant information. He should post here because there is room for vibrant sports talk.

If it wasn't for athletic reasons, why do you care so much about it? Why file an injunction to say how unfair this is? That this puts undue stress on your kids? That they won't be recruited to play football in college?

Make it make sense? LOL

Not sure what type of analogy u were trying to use, but this one def isn’t it. Why are kids being punished if they did nothing wrong, yes education gonna be there, you know what nm, not even worth entertaining

Unfortunately, nobody told these kids that they are not allowed to transfer to Hayfield for just athletic reasons (to follow their coach, have an awesome season and possibly get recruited). It is unfortunate that the adults in their lives did not tell them they were doing something wrong. It is unfortunate for them that adults did not care enough about them to let them know the truth!

Well that’s because they didn’t do anything wrong

Hayfield should win the case. Hopefully they can still be inserted into the playoffs.

If they get the injunction then yes, they will in fact play. The majority in the DMV-wide NSMT poll (from this morning) said they want Hayfield in the playoffs.

Makes since. It’s nice that another school could get in the playoffs, but realistically they don’t play at the level as Hayfield. They aren’t going to beat Madison, Battlefield, Stafford, N Stafford, Colonial Forge, Patriot, or some of the teams in the southern part of the state where some teams are even stronger than the ones I just mentioned.

What are you stating? That the players will win the injunction? That is all that matters. Meeting the legal tests is not easy by any stretch. Query what duty VHSL has to individual players??

Nobody cares about some dumb twitter poll.

I can't believe the message fcps is sending to all the other students, schools and coaches ny supporting this injunction demand. Insanity.

The lawsuit is from a bunch of cheating adults that don’t understand the rules of the governing body for public high school athletics in Virginia. The principal and the parents have no idea what they are doing and are simply trying to save face by taking this as far as it can go. There is no racial bias in the decision from the VHSL, as all 300+ public high schools in VA have to follow the same rules. This is not about one or two players over a couple of years. This is about 24 players that left one school and went to another. It IS against the VHSL rules and it IS against the spirit of the game and sports to have done what they did. Period. They are arguing semantics, all of them, and sound like whining babies in the process. At no point is any of their argument valid. Here is an idea…….follow the rules and this won’t happen. I know that sounds crazy, but it works for many and tends to be less stressful and more cost effective.
