That is what happens when the Boomers retire and move to the warm weather areas.

Yep and we knew they'd do this. Play dirty because they got nothing.
Has ANY republican talked about policy? What platform is Trump running on besides insulting and bullying.

DP. I’m like you and I agree. Kelly would have been a much better choice to convince me. Now I’ll likely just not vote for president. First time since I’ve been eligible.

And in 2016 you voted for TFG because you just couldn't get behind Hillary, and now you're not sure why people make such a big deal about January 6 or classified documents, but you're not going to stand for burning buildings because the police murdered a guy.

Actually no. I supported and voted for Hillary.

I just don’t get why so many posters here think insulting independents like me is a good idea.

From what I read above, you see that there is a greater evil in Trump, and yet you won't do the bare minimum of voting for a Democrat to help protect your friends and neighbors from the greater evil, merely because you had a different preference for Vice President. And, even though you are willing to hang your friends and neighbors out to dry over such a petty thing, you are surprised that you are getting insulting responses?

DP but also tepid about Harris (and enthusiastic about Walz). We will vote for Democrats. There will be many Democrats running for downballot seats. We just aren’t convinced we want to vote for this Democrat. At least for me, I am open to being convinced, but tactics like the ones you’re using don’t educate me about your candidate, they just annoy me.

Yep.

Increase drilling and become energy independent. This will help reduce prices, halt inflation, reduce interest rates, etc.
Stop the flow of illegal immigrants and deport the people here illegally. This will help reduce crime, make housing more affordable, and help with local budgets.
Enforce laws and allow police officers to do their jobs. Stop the weaponization of the federal government.
Have the US get back to a position of strength instead of weakness on the world stage.

These are just a few that I heard him address just this morning.

Claiming he went to war. Claiming he achieved a rank in the military that he didn't.

People who actually served honorably in the military do not appreciate his dishonesty.

Technically, he achieved the higher rank.
And technically, he is retired.

That isn't stolen valor.

It is legitimate to say he achieved the rank, because he was demoted after discharge due to not completing some trainings in enough time (after discharge). And it’s important to note his demotion had nothing to do with his conduct. He cannot claim he is that rank retired but can claim that he was that rank, because he was until he wasn’t any longer. If he’d known he was going to run for VP, he probably would have done the paperwork.

Go ahead and be annoyed. You've got two choices. One is terrible by any measure. I think the other one is a good choice; but maybe you don't. Fair enough. At the end of the day though, you either help stop the greater evil or you don't. It's just not as complicated as some people make it.

I wish it were more complicated. I wish we had ranked choice voting and didn't have a first-past-the-post system. That would allow for more nuanced decision making at the ballot box. But we don't.

I disagree that he was a wrong pick. I'm not sold he is the best pick, only because I don't see him moving the needle, but we'll see.

I agree that this will be won by messaging and do far Harris/Walz has the edge with that.

The messaging with this pick is that she is as far left as republicans have been trying to paint her. As a moderate Dem, this pick is dismaying and feeds right into my perceptions of her from 2020. I can’t vote for Trump but not voting for this either.

Then be prepared to live in Gilead.

Hyperbolic threats are not effective in persuading independent and moderate voters, historically. But go off, I guess.

So you are not seeing where the GOP wants to ban abortions and criminalize them?

My military family members all prefer Walz to Trump

And, mine are all on the Trump train.

Yes. Either you’re not American or you have no sense of humor.

DP but I honestly don’t get it - help!

White people who live outside the DCUM bubble like to wear camouflage. That’s pretty much it.

+1

It’s not a joke, it’s not clever, it’s not funny. If they were making a city version for women, it would be a Harris-Walz striped Sezane sweater. It’s just a Democrat campaign finally selling merch that voters who don’t live in Bethesda or Potomac might want.
