Time will tell, but I hope and pray that there will be no second wave!

is the 2nd wave people fear people getting re-infected or new people getting infected? If it's the former, I don't think there's a lot of data that indicates this would happen. If we're talking the latter, I'm curious what the magnitude of it will be considering most people are either asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic.

The second wave fear has to do with the virus mutating (like the regular flu every year).

Which means no one is safe (antibodies or not), and the second mutation could be far deadlier

As I understand it viruses usually mutate to become weaker not stronger.

Wrong wrong wrong

Second wave is people relaxing and new cases increasing

Virus is mutating but not enough to re-infect or avoid upcoming vaccine

IMO that lends more support to open everything so that the 2nd wave does not affect as many people (when most people's immune systems are more susceptible to infection).

Outbreak on cruise ship to Antarctica — 81% of those tested positive were asymptomatic (they were on the ship 21 days) and 10 people who were confined to a stateroom with someone who was positive didn’t contract the virus.

I don’t even know what convoluted point you’re trying to make...but, this is a thread for uplifting news, not posting links to argue.

True.
This thread isn't for arguments or doomsdaying! Agreed!

I was just simply pointing out that OP isn't "wrong wrong wrong"

Nothing convoluted...
Also there's nothing wrong with posting links... It's literally one of the thread rules as discussed several pages back (don't post something without sourcing the statement)

But alas, you are correct that this topic isn't exactly uplifting, as this thread was meant to be

PP, don't say that because people are waiting for the vaccine. If the virus is mutating then the vaccine would
be useless.

You are defying the science.
You either get virus or not.
If you do, you get immunity for some time at least few months or years.
If you don't then you need vaccine.

If he virus mutates.. regardless if you had it or not you don't have immunity as new mutation
is a new virus pretty much. So then you do need vaccine.

To develop a new vaccine is anything from a year to two.

Do not scare us.
