So Blake has to be handled like a fragile glass doll but she and her "team" can plant stories about Badoni. Do you not realize that she is doing the same thing she accuses Baldoni of? But I guess she and Ruan are just so special and gifted, so the rules are "different" for them than everyone else?

That attitude, plus their weird try hard self promotion, is why people are sick of both of them...

If you’re so sick of them find a new hobby. You’re way too worked up over people who have no bearing on your life.

OK. Please tell me why it's okay for Blake Lively to engage in a media campaign against Baldoni but he is not allowed to have a media campaign about his case. That attitude is extremely hypocritical.

Because it's illegal as retaliation for sexual harassment when he agreed not to do it. And then he did per the PR text exchanges. Look at where she filed her complaint. She didn't sue him until he tried to sue her.

Media articles are illegal retaliation? What if the purpose of the articles is to publicize his view rather than to retalliate?

So you admit he was doing it but want to quibble over the reasons?

Ok. You are the one who claimed the articles are illegal retaliation for a sexual harrassment complaint. My question is whether they are illegal if the main purpose was to publicize his case.

What case does he have? She filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department because of the retaliation. She didn't go after him personally until he sued her. It matters not at all if you personally like them or find them sexy or smug.

I don't know whether he has a case or not. That is for the jury to decide after hearing the evidence.

I thought he sued the New York Times, not BL. Are you saying that he is not allowed to talk about his lawsuit against NYT but Blake can continue to publicize her case? It's a strange double standard that only one of them has to stay quiet.

How has she publicized her case? Neither of them are talking directly they are all talking through lawyers. Not sure what you're even talking about here.

She's wise. If he wants to sue her for defamation, it will be nearly impossible to do so if she's only speaking through court pleadings and filings. She's smart to avoid talking about this directly. I haven't seen in her anything except an episode or two of Gossip Girl, and know little about her, but I respect how she's been handling this. She tried to make complaints to HR, used the strike to get Baldoni and Wayfarer to agree to better working conditions and get the signed rider, and when the bad press started rolling in, stayed calm and laid the foundation for her civil complaint and lawsuit. This is what a serious professional person does.

A serious professional doesn’t arrange a meeting in her apartment so her very powerful husband can scream at the director of a film he’s not attached to.

There’s clearly more to the story than what the NTY portrayed.

I don't care if he screamed at him when he kept harassing his wife and asking how much she weighs. Good husbands stand up for their wives.

You may not care but there is no question it is unprofessional and it opens you up to scrutiny. It completely undermines their case.

Also it seems like he was asking about her weight because he had to lift her. That’s a legitimate question and hardly harassment.

He was asking everyone around her but her for her weight and insinuating she needed to lose some so his "bad back" could lift her. It doesn't "completely undermine" their case but keep trying!

Baldoni has co-hosted a podcast The Man Enough with journalist Liz Plank and Jamey Heath, the CEO of his production company Wayfarer, who is also named in Lively’s complaint, since 2021. The podcast explores “what it means to be a man today and how rigid gender roles have affected all people. Following the complaint Plank posted on Instagram to her 631,000 followers explaining that she would no longer be appearing on The Man Enough podcast.

“I’m writing to you today to let you know that I have had my representative inform Wayfarer that I will no longer be co-hosting The Man Enough podcast. Thank you for trusting me with your hearts and stories, for holding space for me, and for making this show what it was.” “As this chapter closes for me, I remain committed to the values we’ve built together. Thank you for being here, for trusting me, and for being by my side for the last four years.”

Plank did not explicitly refer to the allegations against Baldoni and Heath directly but added:

“We all deserve better, and I know that together, we can create it. I will have more to share as soon as I continue to process everything that has happened. In the meantime, I will continue to support everyone who calls out injustice and holds people standing in their way accountable.”

Since when is Plank a “journalist”? Isn’t she the “comedian” or “influencer” wacko who destroyed Gretchen Whitmer’s political future with their sexualized lesbian mock communion? She is not a serious person.

It is overstepping to go and meet with the wife's employer to intimidate them. Makes it look like she cannot handle herself in a professional setting. The only people who should have been talking to Baldoni are her Lively, her agents, or her legal counsel.

Also there is nothing wrong with the Bahai faith. It is one of the most inclusive religions and teaches tolerance for other faiths.

It's not that complicated. Pervy men pretend to be feminists all the time. Look at Weinstein.

Jian Ghomeshi, of course Big Ears Teddy knew better.

nobody has made REMOTELY similar accusations about Baldoni, even taking Lively’s complaint at face value

Both fake feminists and hypocrites.

What kind of feminist was Blake with her close pal, sexual predator Harvey Weinstein?

Clearly on set, they must’ve had a good relationship at one time if she was inviting him to run lines while she was pumping and sending silly texts signing them x etc. Now that clearly is not an invitation to do more and I’m not at all saying that she did not have other unwelcome moments on set, but at one point, they clearly got along, and she felt comfortable with him.

It seems like what may have happened is that there were disagreements on set, and Ryan Reynolds got involved and I think that’s when things started to fall apart. It is so strange how involved he was in a movie he was never formally attached to, having the final editing cut, having a formal meeting with Sony and the production company in his apartment, where he screamed at Justin, which sounded totally off the rails BTW doing so much to promote the film as well as writing scenes.

I wonder if when he was jealous or felt threatened by Justin. He strikes me is very controlling. It just seems like people got too comfortable and professional lines were crossed and then Blake and Ryan took advantage of that when they wanted to get their way.

I don’t know if he will be successful in the suit but it absolutely seems that the New York Times article left out key context in their relationship and Blake’s side in this, not to mention, Ryan Reynolds harassing behavior of his own.

Good analysis

it’s possibly the Heath guy is the sketchy one. The only allegation in the complaint that seemed legit to me was him ogling her in the trailer. I wonder if in Hollywood it’s normal to be a bit casual about changing in front of others, but he pushed the boundary.

Is this Heath's first involvement in a Hollywood project? I think they're both creepy but Justin may know when to pull back

I think Heath, Sarowitz and Baldoni were all being sketchy. The 3 of them are all Baha'i and part of Wayfarer. Steve has the deep pockets and apparently is doing whatever he can, by any means necessary, to protect Wayfarer, and got caught redhanded playing dirty with the PR nonsense.

what does their religion have to do with it?

Because many regard it as a cult and you have these 3 guys who are all part of ,or own Wayfarer, all over everything on set all the time, harassing the cast and crew, and it starts to smell real bad.

This is absolutely ridiculous and bigoted. Dislike them all you want but this post isn't okay. And fwiw Blake Lively's ex, Penn Badgley, is also Baháʼi. So is Rainn Wilson. Two of the nicest people in Hollywood.

I’ve met many Baha’i through the years and I have heard a bad word uttered about the religion until now. It’s really gross. Perhaps JB is in a cult but Baha’i is not a cult.

Nobody likes hypocrites. It's not so much the religion as its adherents who preach one thing and do another.

So every religion that ever existed, and you as well pretending to have good values here defending a woman while slamming an entire religion that did nothing to her?

We are talking about 3 guys (Baldoni, Heath, and Sarowitz) who wear their religion on their sleeve and own a production company inspired by their religion yet act exactly opposite. If you want to talk about other religions and people being hypocritical by all means start that thread.

I think YOU have decided to talk about that. I don't see anyone really jumping on the "it's a cult's fault" wagon here. It's just a strange angle.

No it's not. It says a lot about his character. He's a fake feminist ally amongst other things. What he says and what he does are in conflict. As the Times author summed up:

"Baldoni was probably the most conflicted person I have ever interviewed. On the one hand he was a devoted husband, present father, an ever-listening and learning male feminist. On the other he was a materialistic, fast-car driving porn addict who objectified no body as much as his own."

You wouldn't be latching on to religion so hard if he were Lutheran or Methodist. I'd examine that. Because this sentence could probably be said about many, many men in Hollywood.

Do you want to discuss a particular hypocritical Methodist? Just spit it out already or move on.

Lively had Reynolds with her as her representative during the meeting. It's common for union members to bring a rep, and Reynolds is obviously in the industry, although the optics of "bringing her husband" may not be great, he's not a completely unreasonable choice. I am sure that part of it was her swinging her weight around and reminding people who she is.

To me this shows that even someone with a supposedly powerful husband gets harassed, so imagine what happens to all the extras, newbies and nobodies on set... ugh.

I am not sure what the source is for Reynolds yelling at Baldoni or if this is just one of those diversions the trolls like to throw in.
